I believe I stated this earlier,  the proceeds of this sale will be unloaded in the open market in exchange for BTC.

This BTC will be used to continue to fund development.

This is the war chest that will be use to battle for dominance over NXT.

NEX are NIC (correct)... think of it like a bank.  low interest rate, low risk.

You invest on NEC (think of it like a company or bank).   Higher interest rate.   More expensive.  Not tradeable.

We still have to work out the exact numbers to get the economic balance correct.   Anyway, we can implement it first and plug in the numbers before we release.  We'll need to do some simulations.

You are correct, it is not 100% proof of stake.  It is a hybrid proof of stake/ proof of burn.  

The 5% distribution here refers to the initial distribution.

Seriously, you have to make your first post WAY more clear.
You wrote NEX everywhere, is the confusion between NIC & NEC voluntary

So NEX=NIC are going to be given freely on the other post.
1'000'000 NXT distribute 5% of the initial distribution... of the NEC (what we invest on here).

Then again:
- why 5%? how are the other 95% distributed? do you plan to have a billion NEC?
- and how can you cap the maximum number of NEC? as more can be created by burning NIC
it's messy as hell, almost illogical/incoherent (maybe that's the reason..)

We have at least 3 experienced Java developers working on it.

Originally, the plan was just to clone Nxt.  But now we have a bit more ambitious plans.

A new kind of hybrid proof of work / proof of burn.

This would be the greenest, most secure coin that you can imagine.
