I wrote this in another post, but I can't say I'm pretty sure: The "class" change seems to be executed some hours (maybe a day) later.
This is, if I well remember, what I noticed.

Just posting I believe. You get a max activity of 14 per two-week period. I've just recently qualified as a Member after the new period started. The whole activity thing was a mystery before I actually read how it was calculated. |

There's apparently a bug preventing Newbies from being promoted. I'll look into it when I have time. I don't think that there's any major disadvantage to being a Newbie now.
Edit: Fixed.
