Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the
subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The
subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Just to throw this out there... we haven't found our first block yet. We would love some help from the community to get us over that first hump!
I'll even throw in an extra .1 BTC to whoever finds the first block!
