during a ddos is it just the website that is affected, or does the pool/blocks/hashing get affected?

I am still having problems with the stratum disconnecting and reconnecting constantly.  It is a waste of my hash power so I stopped mining pot because the other pools are too small.  I have been checking back over the last several days and as of right now it is still unacceptable.

Also the vardiff is screwed and does not select the best difficulty for the speed and setting target difficulty option seems to do nothing.  It will choose half or double what I set as "target".

Do you restart cgminer after setting the target difficulty?

This past time everything was affected. Mining was intermittently going up and down for about 3 hours.

We're running 6 MySQL database servers and 6 stratum servers now. Things should be working much better and miners should no longer be disconnecting / reconnecting.

http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/3.7/

Download cgminer-3.7.2.tar.bz2, and extract with winrar or 7zip.

As far as I know, 3.7.2 is the last version to support scrypt mining.

Okay, done so and I see there's no executable file. Could someone link me to a StepXStep guide to the next part of the setup? Really surprised it's not onsite. Thanks for any leads. Smiley))

Got 'er goin', fellahs!  Shocked

http://i58.tinypic.com/2923fv6.jpg

You have to open Notepad and input either of (depending on what proggy you use):

15b- Set up your batch file (Windows):

Starting your miner requires some configuration details that you don't want to have to remember. For this reason we're going to set up a batch file that launches your miner for you. In the same folder as your mining software make a .bat file. Edit this file with notepad (or similar) and input the command-line command that runs your miner of choice. This should be documented on your miner program's release page but I'll go ahead and post a few examples below:

Mining with CUDAminer and NVidia GPU
cudaminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://[your pool's domain]:[your pool's port] -O [your username].[your worker's name]:[your worker's password]

Mining with CGminer and AMD GPU
cgminer.exe --scrypt  -o stratum+tcp://[your pool's domain]:[your pool's port] -u [your username].[your worker's name] -p [your worker's password]

Mining with Minderd and CPU
minerd -a scrypt -t 4 -s 6 -o stratum+tcp://[your pool's domain]:[your pool's port] -O [your username].[your worker's name]:[your worker's password]

http://www.reddit.com/r/dogemining/wiki/index/mining_guide

THEN!!! SAVE it with .bat extension, in the Folder when your cgminer is. Also, I right-clicked on the .bat file and selected Run as Administrator, just for kicks and good idea to always do. Anyways, you DO NOT double-click on cgiminer.exe, you double-click on the .BAT file you just created. I named mine "scryptominerpool.bat" Thank you fellahs!  Cool

Here it is after running while I typed:

Just want to inform you that the pool is often going over 51 % of the network hashrate. Please turn off registrations and notify your users that they should consider to switch to another pool temporarily.
