I have an Antminer S1 that after about ten minutes keeps blowing the power cable to the PSU and has even blown a PSU itself with a loud pop after about 10 minutes.

I am using a 550W modular Powercool for a single miner and am using the paperclip method to skip the power on.

All is well for 10 mins or so, and then pop, either cable or PSU goes. Have blown 2 cables and 1 PSU with this.

Any thoughts on what could be causing it?

This is what I use. Cheap and it runs one Antminer s1 with no problems.

Super Flower 750w, Golden Green Pro, 80Plus Gold

That is a good power we use at MinerCustoms for our complete products. Not the most expensive and not the most cheap.

Was just a shit PSU. 80+ rated dual rail PSU, looked great on the box, utter shite in reality.

Swapped it out for a Corsair Builder 600 with no problem.
