I was told that the Ethereum team doesn't want to do anything with bitcointalk.com... so, don't expect any answers from them on this forum...

Therefore, use this forum instead:  https://forum.ethereum.org

Or, the blog status updates at:  https://blog.ethereum.org

Or, the Reddit page:  http://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum

They are boycotting US??

How rude

Forgive my petulance and oft-times, I fear, ill-founded criticisms, and forgive me that I have, by this time, made your eyes and head ache with my long letter. But I cannot forgo hastily the pleasure and pride of thus conversing with you.

They could just take the money if they wanted to, in full compliance with the law. No need for fake passports.

Who told you that? If that's true, I'd expect them to lock this thread, or at least put some information in the first post.

How much was the presale value?

1 BTC = 2,000 Ether

what's the price atm?

In summary, the Intel Management Engine and its applications are a backdoor with total access to and control over the rest of the PC. The ME is a threat to freedom, security, and privacy, and the libreboot project strongly recommends avoiding it entirely. Since recent versions of it can’t be removed, this means avoiding all recent generations of Intel hardware. details https://libreboot.org/faq.html#intelme --- https://tehnoetic.com/laptops --- https://store.vikings.net/x200-ryf-certfied

There's no price atm. The initial sale is over and no one can sell you any Ether as it hasn't launched yet

In their ann they are saying  the coin is aimed to who missed the Etherium sale

Of course they are.
They can take your BTC and exchange for real Ether later on, or they can take your BTC and disappear. Which one is more likely? Judge yourself.

Shit, take mine. This is either going to net a very low ROI, or leave you with absolutely nothing.

I feel like a dummy for getting involved.

If you´d like to get involved in to similar project, i'd suggest you to look at XCP instead.

What is the difference between now and when they launched IPO? Why you invested then?

It was important to Vitalik and everyone that the initial sale of Ether was very fair. This, I think, along with the massive hype, is why there was no cap on the sale of Ether. They wanted to prevent a whale from nabbing up a significant portion of the coins and make sure everyone who wanted in, got in.

So because everyone knew about this IPO, the market is fairly saturated. Who will bid up the price of Ether once Ethereum is actually live, especially with miners selling off coins (Ether is fairly inflationary in the first year IIRC), as everyone who wanted in, is in?

It seems *possible* that the price of Ether stays fairly flat after the initial launch of the platform and remains so until the Ethereum ecosystem and services that require Ether are set up and widely used. Some people invested looking for a quick return instead of supporting a project they care about and that may not have been the best idea given we seem to be looking at a looming bitcoin bubble and Ethereum investments are fairly locked up.

I think its better to wait for the real thing.
