If Ethereum is" consumed" in a smart contract, where does Ethereum go? And how does Ethereum check the execution of the contract?

Can anybody please tell me where do I go to read and understand the "smart contracts". I mean the technicality of it. I am tech savvy and understand how bitcoin, litecoin etc works but I have hard time understanding the fundamentals of ETH. And I am skeptical of it.

I hope this will help you https://github.com/ethereum/wiki/wiki
There is a lot of ethereum whitepaper and future roadmap has been published through github. Ethereum wiki looks become a very good source for you to know more about ethereum and smartcontract.
I have been reading it.

ETH is now in a state of impasse. ETH is now in the process of linking bitcoin, without its own independent market. ETH should still have room for a fall. It is possible to bottom out the low price in March.

Yo I agree. Anything is possible and I also fear we might see the $300 range again. Time for some significant updates.
Yes i hope we can see ethereum's price in the range $300 again due to it is cheap price to us for buy it and we know ethereum's price will be rising again, even it won't be many projects on ethereum's platform, it can be used for payment options in ICOs. Ethereum has many benefits of usage except just for to be traded on the exchangers.

Don't underestimate powerful downtrends. If we break 400 and then 300 a lot of people might start panicking and push the sell off even further. Don't wanna see that.

I really hope we do see that. I've been waiting for a really nice buy-in price Cheesy

That is the case if you have cash waiting to be put to work, but for those who have all their eggs in the crypto basket, erm, that could hurt Tongue

You made a good initiative, JeffBrad12.
There are abundant sources of information which crypto enthusiasts can find using Google search.
The problem is it's hard to find the official, correct one amongs loads of in-correct ones.
Consequently, it's always better to get them from official sources like website, github, blogsite of each project.

Do you mean want to learn about smart contract on ethereum's blockchain? Or maybe you want make decentralize application dapps on ethereum's blockchain? I suggest to take course to ivan on tech can see on here http://coding.ivanontech.com/sales-page-1926945721164848 i think it will be better source of information for you about smart contract programming on ethereum's blockchain and you can build career with them.

How would you explain the concept of a smart contract to someone who doesn't know a lot about Blockchain / Ethereum?

You can issue tokens that are bound to ethereum that become worthless after a few weeks or months. Thats "smart contracts" in a nutshell for you.

Oh yeah, and you need to spend eth to be able to transfer the tokens.

I think so. The more usage, the higher price.

This smart contract industry is something extra which changed the whole way these cryptocoins were created at start. At start main focus was only on cheaper, faster and secure transactions for funds transfers and that still is on the table as main target for every project to tackle the issues to facilitate remittance industry. Smart contract is like escrow or guarantor which holds deal until certain period of time for involved parties satisfaction and safety just like third parties we use in real life. This is independent version this way can be explained to anyone.

I think Ethereum have good perspective. First of all - ICOs crash will come soo. A lot of ICO are scam. And after ICOs crashing, Ethereum platform will grow much faster. The second one - bull market will come back soon. This two factors will bring ETH to the moon  Grin

ICOs to be gaining traction again!

A collaborative report by US firm PwC and the Swiss Crypto Valley Association has concluded that over $13.7 billion has been spent on ICOs within the first 5 months of 2018 alone.

The report followed 537 different ICOs, and within the first 5 months of 2018 those projects had raised more money than funds raised by all ICOs in the past combined.

Super optimistic vision of the future of the crypto industry  Smiley

The mainstream financial media will tell you that the blockchain and cryptocurrency boom is over, you missed it. But as you can see, nothing could be further from the truth.

Investments in quality blockchain projects will appreciate 100X over the next few years. But to see those types of gains, you’ll have to invest now, before the rest of the world catches on.

Are you guys experienced that Ethereum gas prices has increased on withdrawals? Right now to be pretty expensive, over 200 Gwei for faster transactions which usually standard gas prices are 5 to 10 gwei. There's experiencing heavy congestion in the Ethereum blockchain again.

I watch it regularly. It all depends on users who foolishly increase the gas price in the pursuit of the speed of the transaction. In the end, everyone suffers.

Ok but what really caused this surge in gas price? Right now is 51 gwei which is pure madness https://ethgasstation.info/. First gas burner is telegram ico apparently? (GRAM  token) https://etherscan.io/address/0x82d3a142ddd44d2bd29a683f0691fbead3bccc44 . Second is Hash Power Token https://etherscan.io/address/0x1a0c31837edb132a9312841b9527e6307db13509. Third one is another ICO ? 3D blockchain token? https://etherscan.io/address/0x11016adcb85b65a0da8d8ddc3ade69dbad6bbca4 . Never heard of this two lol

It's a long term game. In the end there should be an equilibrium that reflects the true transaction price for the network.
