Does it make much of a difference in an open mining rig which one to have? The card I'm using is the VTX3D R9 280X, and I've got two of the single-fan designs and one with the dual-fan design. If it's just a minimal difference in temps then it's OK, and I don't mind the noise either. Thanks

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

it really matters more about the design of the heatsink.

Hmm well I don't really know about any difference in the heatsink between the VTX3D R9 280X v1 and v2... wish I could have found some more mainstream card such as the Sapphire but these were the only ones I could get my hands on. Should I just wing it and set up an 18" industrial fan behind my rig? Overkill the whole cooling stuff.

Still, would be nice to know if someone has one of these cards and can confirm whether there's a big difference, since I might just be in time to return the single-fan cards

As I said, no other cards are available from here unfortunately. Seems like the single-fan is the reference design, have to be stuck with that and make my own external cooling to keep temps in check
