In the encryption world, we often hear various concepts, such as DAO, NFT, or DeFi, these are all professionally subdivided fields. There are also some that are used to describe the entire encryption world, such as web3 and Metaverse, which are both well-known. Metaverse, In particular, has been hyped very much recently, and Facebook has announced that it will establish a Metaverse company within five years. Meanwhile, rafts of blockchain projects based on Metaverse showed up recently.

But as I see it, these two concepts are still not accurate enough for the entire encryption world. Therefore, combined with my in-depth thinking about Bitcoin and the crypto world over the past four years, I put forward the concept of Bit Civilization for the first time on this forum. I will treat it as the basic concept for my future global sermon on Bitcoin. It is the first time that humans define Bitcoin from the perspective of civilization and look forward to the future of Bitcoin from human civilization.

In terms of the connection and difference of Bit Civilization with Metaverse and web3. I'll begin with the definition of web3 and Metaverse.

Web3 has divergent concepts in varied fields. In crypto world, it is proposed mainly by Dr. Gavin Wood. Polkadot's foundation is also called the web3 foundation.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gavin_Wood

Dr. Gavin Wood is an eminent British computer scientist and the co-founder of Ethereum. As the creator of Polkadot and Kusama, he pioneered the concept of web3 in the crypto world. I respect him very much. My enlightenment on encryption technology started by his work and Polkadot cross-chain concept that he came up with also gave me a lot of inspirations.

For him, web3 connects everything to the Internet where a value network is built. The Internet alone cannot solve the problems of data protection, confirmation, and usage rights, but blockchain technology can. The value preservation of Web3 is to make user's self-control over the value of personal data, identity, assets and so on come true, and ultimately to realize the value interconnection of the entire world.

Polkadot is typically seen as a cross-chain project. However, in essence, cross-chain is just one means to indicate the goal of web3 to be the world infrastructure, it aims to become a huge foundation linking the entire encrypted world and become the standard for the construction and communication of web for a new generation.

The above is some of my understanding of web3. Next, Metaverse.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metaverse

The term, Metaverse, derives from the science fiction Avalanche by Neal Stephenson, which describes a world where people, with virtual images, interact with various software in a three-dimensional space. It is composed of 'Meta', which stands for transcendence, and 'Verse', which means universe. Together they normally mean transcending the universe: an artificial space that is parallel to the real world.

In my opinion, Metaverse points to the ultimate form of the Internet. Looking back upon the development of the Internet: from PC LAN to mobile Internet, which has become more and more immersive, especially with AR, VR, 5G, cloud computing and other technologies. With growing maturity, Metaverse is expected to move from concept to reality.

Metaverse can gain a fundamental escalation when combined with blockchain because blockchain can transfer value, then real value is feasible in the domain of Metaverse and it can truly connect with the physical world, achieving its interconnection with the virtual one.

Now, let's look at the connection and difference of Bit Civilization with Metaverse and web3.

About connection. Web3, Metaverse and Bit Civilization are all a kind of overall description of the encryption world we are currently working on, an imagination for the future development of encryption world. Web3 represents the ultimate format of the Internet, Metaverse has created a parallel universe and virtual world, and Bit Civilization has created a new civilization. They are all founded on the overall description of the encryption world, and use this overall description as the standard to build a brand-new world.

With respect to difference, as far as I'm concerned

  • firstly, the attitude towards Bitcoin. Neither web3 nor Metaverse paid extra attention to Bitcoin, nor did they explain the relationship between Bitcoin and crypto world. But Bit Civilization takes Bitcoin as the center, holding the idea that the current crypto world is based on Bitcoin thought. Without it, there would be no crypto world today. Additionally, crypto realm will be more prosperous in the future with Bitcoin as the king.
  • The second difference is their tolerance. As far as I'm concerned, Bit Civilization, as a concept, includes web3 and Metaverse. Web3 mainly refers to the ultimate state of the Internet, to build a global value network. Metaverse is to construct a virtual space and a parallel universe to realize intercommunication and interconnection with the existing world. While Bit Civilization is to not only build a value network and create a new virtual space, but transform the existing material world and format it step by step, making it finally evolve into a new civilization with Bitcoin as the cornerstone .

Yes, Bit Civilization will create a new virtual world and transform all aspects of the existing physical one, including but not limited to the following elements: organization, family concept, tool, language, word, belief, law, system, city-state, country, assets, ethics, culture and art. The entire existing world will be changed because of Bitcoin. That may take long, but I believe it will come.

I write this article to make my definition of Bit Civilization clear from the overall view of the encryption world. I hope more Bitcoin believers will understand this definition and do some supplement. When increasingly growing number of people understanding this concept, a consensus will be allowed and promotion is possible to spread the significance of Bitcoin to humans, to encourage them accept Bitcoin. In the future, I will launch my own independent blockchain project, Rainbow City, to extend the concept of Bit Civilization and call on more groups around the world to reach a consensus on Bitcoin.

That is my point of view. What is the ideal web3, Metaverse and Bit Civilization in your mind?

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

When every idea is put forward, it will feel like a fantasy, and only after time has passed can a conclusion be reached.
The first time I read your article saying that Bitcoin will form a new civilization, I think it's a fuss. Then I continued to read a few of your articles. I think maybe I have never thought about how Bitcoin will continue to affect our world. I think it is getting more and more interesting.
Anyway, promoting the development of Bitcoin is what everyone in the forum wants to do.

i understand your philosophy of
bitcoin civilisation. under the same concepts of
stone age civilisation
iron age civilisation
bronze age
gold era

where by a large community functions and works and survives on the mineral(asset) of that era

but for bitcoin to become that centred around peoples lives, doesnt happen with just hype and hope.

yes if a metaverse of online shopping, communicating and socialising becomes relient on bitcoin to function/survive. then yes a bitcoin civilisation can occur.
but it has to be life affecting and not just the economy.

EG the british empire had laws and work and social functions it was not just about the pound

but bitcoin is not going to be the 'one world' currency. and in many ways it shouldnt
it should be a OPTION/choice as an escape/safetynet if other currencies fail.

yes we can see some bitcoin nations. but a whole civilisation is a stretch too far.

and the funny part
you promote a bitcoin civilisation....... but then want to break away and make your own blockchain..
sorry but another altcoin is not helping bitcoin. its moving away from bitcoin

maybe try to think of ways to build WITHIN bitcoin. rather than making a separate network(nation/civilisation)

its like saying "i support a US dollar civilisation.. so lets make euros instead"
or "i like the british empire. but i want to make the ottoman empire instead"

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

franky1, thank you again for your wonderful reply. It can be said that you are one of the people in the entire forum who knows the "bit civilization concept" most clearly. In response to the questions you raised, I would like to explain my understanding again. I hope that we can gradually reach a consensus in the exchanges.

1. In my opinion, the crypto world in the future must be a world of 10,000-chain inter-chain, not a world with only one main chain of Bitcoin. The Bitcoin main chain is linked with other blockchains, but the Bitcoin main chain is the king of all chains and plays the role of the value center. Only in this way can it be possible to form a complete human civilization;

2. Although there are many chains, these core chains must also follow the true Bitcoin idea and Bitcoin spirit. The most basic one must adhere to the idea of decentralization. This is what I have always emphasized. The important thing about Bitcoin is not only the currency itself, but more importantly, the ideas behind Bitcoin. Decentralized thinking. As long as a main chain conforms to the complete decentralization idea, it belongs to the bit civilization.

3. Some main chains have a direct relationship with Bitcoin, and some main chains have no direct relationship with Bitcoin. But as long as it conforms to the idea of decentralization, it is part of a new civilization. In my opinion, ideological guidance is always the most important.

4. Bitcoin's consensus is very strong, but very fragile. Because it is difficult for us to make very big changes and developments on the basis of the Bitcoin main chain. Because a slight change may trigger a fork and cause the consensus to be broken. Therefore, Bitcoin mainly played a role as a store of value in the original bit civilization. Use the value of Bitcoin as an anchor to issue other currencies in circulation. At the same time, let's take WBTC as an example. What is the relationship between WBTC and BTC? WBTC is issued on the Ethereum main chain, can we say that it is not BTC? It is equal to the value of BTC. WBTC has gradually become the largest Bitcoin anchor currency, transferring the value of Bitcoin to the Ethereum main chain. Now its biggest problem is that it is not sufficiently decentralized, and there are still some potential risks.

5. Bitcoin is not only a currency that changes the human economy, but more importantly, it will definitely change people's lives. Here, what changes people's lives is only Bitcoin currency itself, but the ideas and concepts that Bitcoin represents. Still decentralized thinking. More and more DeFi projects are being born, NFTs are constantly changing human art, and more and more DAO organizations are emerging. As long as they adhere to the real decentralization idea, they belong to the bit civilization.

6. As I said earlier, in the future I will also develop a completely independent main Rainbow Public Chain, but the core role of this public chain is not to be separated from Bitcoin, but to be fully integrated with Bitcoin.  Through the role of the Rainbow Bridge cross-chain bridge, the value of Bitcoin is transferred to another chain, allowing Bitcoin to act as a value anchor. Of course, this process must be completely decentralized and permissionless. There are big technical problems here. We hope that after the Bitcoin Taproot upgrade is completely completed, we can provide a reasonable solution for the new algorithm.

7. So the "bit civilization" I describe here is not the civilization of a main chain of Bitcoin, but the entire encrypted world that conforms to the idea of Bitcoin decentralization.
