Its multipools and their incessant raping of all alt coins.

When the difficulty drops to 40, then it is a hugely profitable coin to mine.  So the multipools jump on, the hash rate goes very high, and blocks are found very quickly, with the bulk of the coins going to the pools.  They keep mining all the way through the 40 difficulty which takes no time given the hash rate.  Once it changes and goes to difficulty of 130/140, the pools dissapear as they cant find coins as quickly.

They can then dump a load of coins on the exchange, killing the value and leaving a high difficulty.

This the leaves everyone else behind on around 2MH/s working through the blocks - average time for a block goes to around 3 or 4 minutes because the multipools pushed up the difficulty.  Then when it comes back down, they join again and blocks are found about every 30 seconds.  Gravity well should be compulsory for all coins to kill off these morons.

Hi all,

I have been mining at leaf.hash.so for several days and today i just realised when I compare in the estimation "coins/day" showed at the pool it is half of if i calculated manually with the "block_reward/(difficulty*2^32/hashs_per_sec/3600/24)" formula.
As comparison, i checked their SMC pool and the number showed right.

Anybody know if Is this an error in the web script or the pool actually take half of the coins earned ?

Thanks

https://leaf.hash.so/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool

The pool has probably not updated their calculations to take into account the new block reward size.  One pool was using 0.75 the max reward value as a basis too, which should have been 0.5, this gave a false impression on the number of coins that could be mined.

In that case (not updated their calculations) the only way to check is by the amount of coins that the miners received ?

LEAF - RIP  Cheesy

epic fail diff switch

Fix coming very soon, switcher pools to blame not coin, but coin will adapt rather than die....

One of the joys of having a active dev that knows what he is doing and didn't just use coinogen!

Its the same thing faced by a lot of alts, they are also implementing the gravity well or so it seems reading their threads.  New coins that are being released are having it built in from the start now.  Hopefully this will be the end of the multipools, and they will be stuck mining the old coins.

I doubt it will stop them, but when they then switch coin it will stop the rest of us getting shafted

As soon as a coin becomes "profitable" by their calculations, they will switch, within a few minutes it will become less profitable due to the almost immediate difficulty increase.  They will then switch somewhere else and the same will happen.

Once the majority of coins implement the gravity well or quick difficulty increases, the pools will spend more time switching than mining.  Thats the theory anyway.

nah it isnt... hardly.

we have a fix ready.

just needs testing.

dont wanna launch something bad and destroy a coin that has much potential.

so we double check everything.

we have been smooth in updates and we would like to stay that way.

It is very good! I saw several coins died because of bad updates! Good testing and only then -----> release

Some donate will be good))))))

Whats going on with wallet nodes? I opened up today and its sitting at block 15093, with a warning up top saying I need to upgrade / nodes need to upgrade.

I downloaded latest wallet from front page, set a conf file up using all the nodes I can find here in the thread, my wallet shows 6 active connections at the moment, but still sitting at block 15093, 46 hours behind.

addnode=5.199.149.228:22812
addnode=5.135.161.122:22813
addnode=5.199.149.228:22813
addnode=46.4.95.176:22813
addnode=185.9.159.118:22813
addnode=195.154.178.118:22813
addnode=5.135.181.165:22813
addnode=162.243.193.232:22813
addnode=115.28.145.238:22813

Nodes I'm currently using, shouldn't be a problem with active connections. Any good nodes I missed? If all is lost for me then I'll just get a new wallet on my laptop and see if that updates.

If you didn't update before the fork, you are now on the wrong chain, so you need to go into your appdata folder and delete everything APART from wallet.dat.  Then re sync to the network

Thank you Aaron, had no idea it forked. Ditched the folder, relaunched, syncing quick. Appreciate it very much.
