after kgw, will the retargets still occur in 240 blocks?
no.. every block in a graduate manner... if someone throws 20 ghash at us/leaves suddenly ( which middlecoin might do after 18818 )... the diff will adjust every block with a factor between 0,87 ( leave ) - 1,13 ( join )... so within 9 blocks it should be at correct diff.... so diff jumps from 8->100 and 240 blocks high-diff are something of the past.

For those who missed post #5026 on page 252 - don't fall for these fakes buy/ sell walls, I can see people are playing the game on cryptsy again.

i do not believe so, they should be effectively happening every single block. although the exact implementation of this might not actually be every block, it might be every 2-3 blocks i think i read somewhere. *edit, MCG says within 9 blocks, that sounds about right to me. i found the following in a cursory google search, not sure how helpful it is Apparently, KGW = 1 + (0.7084 * (PastBlocksMass/144)^(-1.228)) (-> Introductory post by Kimoto) describes how to calculate the Kimoto Gravity Well. On another source it was stated that "KGW is applied if the hash rate is high, and 1/KGW when the hash rate is low" (-> Post on Catcoins adoption of KGW).

Thanks for the explanation. So most people who mine Leaf in the past are multipoolers?

So are we really mining any more right now with more lower difficulty and higher hashrate?

not most, just for the last 1000 out of 18,000 blocks. most was the community from day 1, until it got popular, and then the multipools decided to jump on the bandwagon and ruin all of our fun

i bet it's the traders, they wanna keep these artificially low buy/sell walls for just a few more hours so they can scoop up as many cheap leaf as possible. last chance i guess.
i'm keeping all my hashing power pointed at this until the gravity well happens, cause i believe in this coin.

So isn't there suppose to be like 10Ghz spike or something like that? the net hash is still low.

Probably diff has limits on rise and drop. And 25 was that limit.

we had a hashrate increase on last blocks... pushing it to 25 instead of 8. it takes middlepool a couple of blocks in order to see profitability. i spoke yesterday to the owner of middlecoin and he said it would be still very profitable, even at price 10. they should join in soon, but limit to 5ghash. esp. since we are 1 @ http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency

So isn't there suppose to be like 10Ghz spike or something like that? the net hash is still low. There's always lag, between people noticing, switching miners etc. same was last time. That's good news for us, we get more at easier diff - but that's well deserved in my book, I had every single hash during high diff...
