As a newbie, the easiest way to get started in the crypto world is by avoiding things such as day trading and ICO investing (initially). First get acquainted with the fundamentals of btc and crypto--what it is, where to purchase it, how to store it, how transactions work, etc. Once those concepts are clear to you, then purchase some crypto and hold it for a bit or make SMALL transactions/trades with friends. You'll find that you might make mistakes, but at least they wont be catastrophic ones. There are thousands of BTC guides for beginners, start a google search! We have one on our blog, for example:

Careful with putting all your trust on their opinions, however, since ultimately it's your time and money that is going into this. It is always recommended to do your own research on a project.
