Dear Family, We here at Helios protocol have always strived to create leading edge technology that solves some of the biggest problems with modern society. One of the core principles of our project is to accomplish this in a grass roots, community driven, open source fashion, without doing things like raise money in an ICO. One of our main tools for building a community, and ensuring maximum decentralization, is to give away the supply of tokens to as many individuals as possible. However, it has recently come to light that it may now be illegal to give away tokens for free in the USA and Canada. It has always been our duty to stay within the regulatory boundaries set by our respective governments. As such, it is with our deepest regret that we can no longer include Americans or Canadians in our airdrops or giveaways.
We find it difficult to believe that the situation in North America has come to this point, and want the community to know that we would love to continue to airdrop to American and Canadian citizens, but are unable to because of shortsighted government action. You can see the exact ruling that made airdrops “probably illegal” in sections 33 and 34 here:

Before you get too worried about giving away personal information, we want to clarify that we do not require any sensitive information. Just your name, and address, so that we can guarantee you are not from the USA or Canada. In the modern world, this information is most likely already somewhere on the internet, so you aren’t giving away anything that isn’t already public information. We are deeply sorry that we are forced to make these changes but, as you all can see, our hands are tied. We need to stay compliant with our respective governments in order to continue the development of the project and bring you the best Platform that we can bring. We hope you will understand our position and we hope you stay on board. The community is our blood and we bleed Helios!!!
