Do you approve this strategy: sell alts buy btc?

Personal opinion, I don't think this strategy must be followed. There are coins which is good in many aspect if compared to Bitcoin. And if we see this for long run, those and many altcoins have greater chance to flourish. I don't want to enter the speculation about surpassing Bitcoin, nobody can guarantee that, but I believe these coins will give a good return, and if you compare the percentage of return with Bitcoin, you will see a good difference.

Yeah true enough. It's hard to speculate on these things, but I wouldn't be putting all of my bets on the Bitcoin and ignoring the rest. There are lots of other good things on the go out there too. Altcoins are hard to sift through because there are so many, but if you take care and look through them enough, there are bound to be many worth investing in. Especially ones that are linked to real world purposes or causes.

No investment strategy should follow an "all-in-one" approach. That's just dangerous.

How can we recommend such strategy where awe dont know whether specific altcoins which we may sell for btc is good or bad ? It can happen that the particular altcoin might just get hyped because of some good developments of it and may give you more profits than the bitcoin itself. Then in such case it wont be the perfect strategy or step forward to sell it. Most of the time we should keep the bitcoin and altcoin investments separate. To be honest I make investment into an altcoin for the purpose of back ups where I may get tremendous profits which can cover cost of my needs for a month or two. The calculations are different but I wont recommend this one.

The strategy doesn't hold water , if you ask me.

Reason being, there are a lot of good altcoins that can do better in terms on return on investment than bitcoin.
So why selling alt for bitcoin?

For me, altcoins and bitcoin has the same strategy their price was not stable. If the price of bitcoin will decrease altcoins also decrease. Therefore, I conclude to hold both coins and sell them when the price is increase.

I think that will depend in the person strategy on how he or she can make profit with his/her investment. If selling altcoins and invested to bitcoin would result to a much greater profit then so be it for as long it was the best decision being made.

its depends on a person.. who's people invest in bitcoin they will sell all altcoin and buy btc..
and my personal opinion there are which coin is good and their market caps good i will invest the coin i believe these coin are good profit.

Maybe there are some advantages to invest in bitcoin rather that altcoins. Because bitcoin was the highest rating when it comes cryptocurrency market value. And sometimes bitcoin has a big chance to increase frequently and stability unlike altcoins it has a less chances to earn a lot because of its volatility.

Everyone has their own thoughts and opinions. including about bitcoin and altcoin. sometimes when the price of bitcoin increases then the price of altcoin will be destroyed.
but I think the best thing for now is that we can save our bitcoin and wait like last year

I honestly don’t agree going with the flow and concentrating all your resources in one thing. Tycoons didn’t make their first million by going with the flow. They learned to go against it until they, themselves, become the flow. What do I mean by this? If others are selling, buy more; if others are buying, sell off. Always have your own strategy. Don’t be overshadowed by others’ decision and be clouded by your emotions. So I don’t agree selling all your alts and holding bitcoin alone, or selling bitcoin and holding alts only. And remember not to put all your eggs in one basket ‘coz if it drops, you will lose all. Through this, you’ll be a good trader.

Well I prefer to have a 70-30 division on my crypto currency investment, 70% of my investment is on Bitcoin and the other 30% is on alt coins. I was told that i should diversify my portfolio so I will not miss out on anything. I am now studying on ICOs and looking out for some potential ICOs that I can invest into.

That was my strategy for a while and it became that when BTC fell, no other investments picked up the slack. Then again, when BTC fell every thing feel right after. But then I invested on strong alt coins and strong up and coming ones. This is called portfolio diversity. The suprising thing about it is, alt coins gain more than BTC.

Probably not, it is better to buy altkoins additionally, and leave the bitcoins.

Yes, always do that when i realize that coin that i hold is probably shitcoin, ill wait for him to pump and sell it to btc ...because lot of times you go into some project naive thinking that it will be great like some other coins but when you realize that clearly its shitcoin or even worst shittoken its best to get rid off and only and best way its to sell it to btc than after you can cash out or wait for another opportunity

Of course not, there are some alts have a potential  and there are some good for scalping trading. My suggestion is, if you think that alts is good enough to hold then why sell?  If you really want to buy bitcoin, use other resources. You can use your profit from scalping to buy Btc and if you think that the alts  your holding has no improvement then sell in btc pair.

In 2017, this strategy was very relevant, but now it is not working in a declining market. Do not sell your altcoins now, wait until they grow again.

Now, the market is not declining. Naturally, no one can be sure that the good green signs that we have seen will last for long but I will not sell my tokens.

Personally speaking, I do not recommend this strategy to sell your alts to buy Bitcoins, as much as possible, we have to diversify our portfolio, that is the smart and safer strategy, If you really believe in Bitcoin and wants most of your investments to be in it, you can do 75 to 25; like three forths of your investment is on it, the the other quarter is on altcoins.

More and more people are into bitcoin so it is really a wise decision to prioritize bitcoin since it has the most or biggest potentian among the rest.
