I was looking on Craigslist over the weekend when I noticed something new. There was a box to select “cryptocurrency ok”. Awesome! Try your home city and see for yourself. Below is a link to New York’s Craiglist.

This is great for those looking to spend their coins and those looking to obtain coins. Now you can sell something for bitcoin or host a bitcoin garage sale.  Yay!

Very cool.

That might be the best method I've seen to purchase real estate or cars via bitcoin / crypto.

If anyone does it and has a positive experience please blog it or document the process to make it easier for others to replicate your success. This type of support is excellent and perhaps exactly the type of grassroots level support bitcoin needs to grow and appreciate in value.

I would guess there are a few scams out there & so caveat emptor(buyer beware). Would be interested to know how craiglists crypto support compares to localbitcoins and similar markets. For those who run bitcoin websites please cover some of this material.

I like how online marketplaces are working their way up. I wish my local online marketplace did it, especially because of how people include in the description that they accept Bitcoin as payment as well.

It just shows how the demand for Bitcoin and related currencies keeps increasing, which is something that everyone back in the days could only dream of. We are living the dream, how cool is that?!

I however do hope that they will release some actual usage figures after each quarter or year. In most cases there is barely any information about the usage when it comes to merchants and payment gateways.

I obviously don't expect crazy numbers since people aren't using Bitcoin as actively as a currency as we want, but it would at least indicate growth or stagnation in Bitcoin sales.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

Works for my local craigslist too, seems to be available for all craigslist areas now and there's surprisingly quite a lot of items up already in my area that all support cryptocurrency as payment. Nice to see that even though the price of BTC is going down, there's still lots of adoption happening right now. There's tons of vehicles and even miners on sale locally, very nice! I'll be monitoring the listing activity in my area for items accepting crypto payment and seeing if they continue to go up- they probably will.

OMG this is hilarious. I think the senior class is having some fun today. The local high school just turned up for sale on craigslist. It's $420, payable in bitcoin. lol

The price going down doesn't mean it will affect the level of adoption in a serious manner. I would even like to say that now the price has gone down, people feel more tempted to join, where higher prices might form some sort of an obstacle. In case of Craigslist, selling stuff with lower rates means that you get more coins in return, and more coins means more value later on. I wonder how long it will take for other platforms to ride the crypto boom, because you definitely don't want to miss out on this as business. Every legacy business getting involved in crypto or blockhain technology gains more visibility and potentially even more actual use, so we'll see where we go from here....

Just checked out my local craigslist and was surprised to find only 7 items filtered by crypto. Surprised because recently read 5% of Bitcoin nodes are in my current country of residence, because recent government stats showed a really high percentage of families owning crypto, surprised because it's home to a Bitcoin city, etc.

More surprising is that 3 of them are cars, haha. And I definitely found something I might want to try buying (cheap airline rewards miles). Thanks for the heads up... was really sure I looked on craigslist recently but somehow missed that option. Or am I thinking of some other ads site hmm.

4:20.

Could be someone selling weed out of their local high school.  Smiley

Is this how the former drug dealers out of silk road 2.0 and alpha bay are selling their wares now that many of those deep web drug markets have been shut down? There could be something similar happening with prostitutes who advertised on backpage and craigslist moving towards snapchat and social media to advertise their services.

Also could be law enforcement running a sting. "Hi, do you want to buy weed." Then people get arrested when they show up expecting to buy their 4.20.   Sad

This is really a good one to come from Craiglist being one major market place where virtually every thing can be sold and its going to go a long way in increasing the level of penetration of bitcoin in the face of all of the difficulty being faced at this time coupled with the price of bitcoin taken some constant level without any improvement in sight. This will also come as a base to support bitcoin by the time price picks up against those who will argue that the increase is not backed by usage by the people or adoption by company.

If applied to buy some of the items is too good to what. And in that car catalog is very special. Because you can buy that right then, the value is very cheap because btc is high. In general, if btc store many people still benefit.
