Being a good bitcoin user is not a problem but being addicted to it is not a good idea. Even if we say that you are helping the bitcoin community, having a good income for your family if you didn't manage to maintain the healthiness of your mind, all of your hardwork will be nothing. We also need rest so that we can maintain our healthiness. If someone who has a big contribution to bitcoin community gone mad, it will be having an effect to the whole community specially when you are already a whale.

LOL, Really is it really a need to have a bitcoin rehab programme? I do think that this is very rare to happen to get into bitcoin addiction. I do not really what trigger on this because bitcoin is just like money and all of us do like to have money but no way that one could be get addicted to it.

I guess those individuals that do get addicted are those with mental health issues not really like a normal person that could think rational. Even now with pandemic that most of us do need money but it will not get to the point that too much attraction to it will get into addiction. Sana all!

btw, I just found out that a topic like this exists...
I wonder when they are called 'Bitcoin addicts', whether Bitcoin can cause addiction?  Cheesy even if you are a Bitcoin trader, you do not deserve to be called a 'bitcoin addict'. addiction has a negative connotation for those who can no longer be separated from it like drugs, gambling or sex but it is inappropriate for Bitcoin.

BIG WINNER!

any one knows how many patients they treat in this rehabilitation program, this is junk program no body requires bitcoin rehabilitation they are better off allocating their funds for alcohol rehabilitation, because it makes more sense.
there is nothing to rehabilitate, people spend time analyzing bitcoin not because of addiction but want to earn money and have a decent life.

When it comes to bitcoin it can affect your mental health if you keep thinking on how to make profit or speculating about the price. Its like gambling, no assurance of 100% profit if you become a trader or as an investor.

Nevertheless bitcoin is just a currency like fiat and people are the ones who control their assets. Therefore if you're not greedy to aim for lots of money then you would not end up addicted. Well any addiction is not really good but its just funny that there's a rehab for btc addiction which I think is easy to deal with and there's no harm, if ever you became addicted to it.

Agreed!
The rampant addiction of folks feeling the need to constantly txt and use other social media platforms is a far bigger problem. Hell, each year many people are killed because the idiots walk into traffic while texting. The problem is bad enough that several cities have installed warning devices that flash in the sidewalks at intersections along with location-based apps that trip the phones to display crosswalk warnings.

And nothing to do with Bitcoin addiction essentially!

I read about Canadian tracks that install a smart code on every crossing where you can scan and watch all the near misses that happened at the exact track code. Generally most of them are glued to their phones while crossing or only looking one way, and not the other. The worse is that train drivers suffer PTSD  when they get to see many near misses and unfortunately, sometimes hit:(

Is the article really serious about it, When we say addiction meaning it's not working normally anymore, and what kind of addiction is it? I think it's just a simple misunderstanding between addiction and hard work because when you aim for something and you want to use Bitcoin as a stepping stone to reach that goal you need to work hard for it and to me thats, not an addiction. Talking some nuts here is there any specialist about that problem which is called Bitcoin addiction?

Its actually relevant because anything which is too much can really be considered addiction but if we do talk about profit addiction just like on what we do treat on fiat money then
there should be at least some fiat based rehab programme too.

Anyone that cant really control up their emotion and way of thinking just because they are just minding too much on how to make money then its really a problem.
Its good somehow that they do had those establishments that do offer but for me its also funny just like you.

Minding too much about your crypto or bitcoin investment? Its somewhat can be considered as hobby i guess?

To be honest, I was surprised when I read the title of this topic, I am quite surprised if there are people who are addicted to Bitcoin.
If people are addicted to gambling or addicted to drugs I can understand, but this is addiction to Bitcoin, very rarely people get addicted
to Bitcoin. Maybe people who are addicted to Bitcoin are obsessed with getting as much Bitcoin as possible, so his daily activities are only
analyzing and observing the movement of Bitcoin. If this happen is not healthy, then it needs rehabilitation.

The funny aspect is this, the rehab program will be taking care of all the junkies and addicts and they might do a survey that anyone of these junkies used bitcoin and then they can represent that as bitcoin addicts  Cheesy Cheesy. Not heard about a rehab facility that could cater for financial addicts even though there are gambling rehabilitation centers.

The catchy headline world over is what the hospital was looking after and they got it by adding bitcoin  Cheesy.

Bitcoin addiction? Are they sure they didn't mix anything up?

I think this is some kind of a joke. When I first saw this topic (actually observing it on first pages of unread posts for a couple of days) I thought "Now way people got treat from that kind of addiction". That just done make any sense. What is bitcoin addiction? A wish to trade, observe graphs, predict prices, check news, search for valuable ICO/IEO/DeFi projects? This is not an addiction, this is just an interest in something imho.

It not a joke situation mate and the reason behind the rehabilitation make sense because we certainly need to put everything we do in check and whatever we're doing that skip our attention from our partner (friend, wife etc) need professional help. Besides, this is among the reason why previous CMC owner sold CMC to Cz Binance and the last time i check one of the profitable trading rules is not spending too much time on trading but some people really abuse that.

Having an interest is fine.  Having an obsession might not be.  Why are people having difficulty comprehending this?  Are people just reading the OP and completely ignoring all the replies?

Are you familiar with the phrase "everything in moderation"?  It's when people take things too far that it becomes an issue.  If someone becomes so consumed with checking their trades that it starts to have a detrimental impact on their life, then they likely need help.

I've seen it happen right here on the forum with someone complaining about "problems in Bitcoin" when their actual problem was addiction.  They were completely in denial and wanted to blame everyone else for the fact that their life was falling apart.  They couldn't leave the exchange alone and kept trying to place manual trades in a futile attempt to keep up with automated trading bots.  No wonder they went crazy thinking that would work.

I'm familiar with that phrase. I agree that if something becomes your obsession and your physical condition or health is getting worse, or this endangers other life, then something must be done. Perhaps a visit to psychologist, maybe taking a course of medicine. In most cases these kind of people just need to learn how to cope with stress.

addicted to crypto? this sounds strange to me. and to say crypto as something dirty is redundant and even outrageous. Crypto trading does rely on fluctuations for traders looking for a profit, but can it really damage / change someone's behavior?
I also take the point from the article "A UK hospital is offering treatment for bitcoin addicts, aimed at helping people "who have developed a compulsion to trade the cryptocurrency". What does "compulsion" mean here? Has crypto really forced someone to involved?

WAKE UP, PEOPLE!

Bitcoin addiction is a serious problem!

While HODLers can successfully quit cold turkey, BTC traders need to do it steadily. Akin to methadone threatment for heroin addicts, they let BTC junkies check graphs twice a day and make a couple of shitcoin transactions.

Utter nonsense! I see this as an organized effort sponsored by an organized corporate entity to de-frame bitcoin. If this hospital want to genuinely help people, they should start rehabilitation program to come out of facebook addiction. This facebook addiction is actually harmful for the society which only fills up company's account without fetching any personal benefit.

I agree with you. Addicting in bitcoin is worth than being addicted in facebook because facebook already destroyed many relationship and it also bring bad things and mentality to young people about many things that published on their plarform. Addicting in bitcoin can give you a good future and you can earn a lot if you know about it.

addicted to Bitcoin??  I just found out there is this kind of this addiction "lol"..
Quote
Addiction is a condition that makes a person lose control of something. Usually, this refers to an over liking and driven by a strong desire or liking for one thing
my question is whether anyone likes Bitcoin so much that they forget to eat, drink, shower, or have sex??  addiction to Bitcoin is not much different from the addiction to work that many people experience because it ultimately makes money.  addiction to Bitcoin in my opinion is very positive than addiction to twitter, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram or youtube.. Cheesy
