Need help with Total Coin Supply API

Hello Folks

I've been Working on a web project that basically will be offering what coinmarketcap.com offer and some additional features will also be available too.
My question is how does one simply find total supply of bitcoins and other altcoins aswell (total minted coin so far) Is there any API out there to get the total coin supply amount?
