I had another go at the puzzle2, still do not understand what "If you can reverse the enemies" means...
My new answer is too simple, not sure whether it is what you are looking for

You know your second puzzle. I was thinking why 'never' is in italics. I stumbled upon something which ties in your whole story/book/monkey theme togather. I am sure you didn't planned it this way, I am just over thinking it.  Cheesy

Your clue is about "reverse". So i tried to rearrange the word 'never', and got 'verne' as in Jules Verne. He is one of the pioneers of science fiction and he wrote a story on monkeys.
