What is BellaCoin? BellaCoin is a scrypt coin which is based off of Litecoin which came to be inspired by my daughter, Bella. Her favorites? Unicorns and flowers. That’s what you’ll find on a BellaCoin. Why another alt coin, don't we have enough? I'll agree in a heartbeat the alt coin market has beyond grown to beastly proportions. However, my intentions and focus behind creating BellaCoin are pretty different from what's out there. BellaCoin's primary objective and goal is to benefit children globally. Organizations such as The Salvation Army and others that aim to help children in need are being reached out to by me with my plan explained. What's your plan? BellaCoin (BELA) will be given to participating organizations with voucher codes attached to amounts to give to donors as a "thank you". What they can do in turn then is either save them, or spend them in the upcoming online storefront which will offer items only payable via BELA. My daughter is my world and I love kids. I'd rather do something meaningful with my knowledge than just something profitable. Pre-mine? Roughly about 30K or so are pre-mined for the sole purposes of the faucet I coded on the site, and to give to the aforementioned organizations free of charge. Anything that runs out on the faucet moving forward from there will be donated via my personal BELA wallet. Website: www.bellacoin.com Specifications: Scrypt Algorithm Kimoto's Gravity Well diff retargetting 2 minute blocks 50 coins per block 54 Million total coins Downloads: Git: https://github.com/bellacoin/bellacoin.gitLinux: http://www.bellacoin.com/downloads/BellaCoin.tar.gzWindows: http://www.bellacoin.com/downloads/BellaCoin-win.rarOS X: None yet RPC port: 10554 Explorer: http://explore.bellacoin.comPool: http://pool.bellacoin.com (use http://bela.coinmining.pw for now) Help Desk: http://hd.bellacoin.com No need to add nodes. Feel free to contact me with any questions and thanks for your support! *NOTE* There's currently two issues: 1) An issue with the official pool, please mine over at http://bela.coinmining.pw2) The windows wallet crashes The above is news to me, I've been working on this coin and supporting services for it for over a month and I'll do my best to get these issues resolved immediately.

When the wallet crashed it took all of my receive addresses with it. Including the address I set for auto payouts on coinmining.pw. So for the last few hours I basically mined for nothing since the pool is paying out to an address I don't have anymore. I backed up my wallet.dat, re downloaded blockchain without luck. Every time I shutdown the wallet it throws tons of c++ runtime library errors. I lose all addresses upon every restart of the wallet. If you need any more info to troubleshoot let me know.

I think think this is a noble thing you do for your daughter and coin doesn't look bad at all. but i think is not going to pass with all these other altcoins. I wish you luck and happiness.

I'm so sorry dude, I didn't see any responses to this thread only the other. This is the Windows client correct? What's your pool username? I'll find out how many shares you submitted and note down how many coins you're owed. I'll take care of it, don't worry. The new Windows client is in the works. Do you have a Linux client by chance? Best regards, Syntaks

I'd like to thank everyone for their patience and apologize for lack of a *working* Windows wallet upon launch. I felt completely stupid to be honest and disappointed but it's been re-built and re-tested. Please let me know if there are any issues whatsoever or questions and I'll be more than happy to help. The download link is: http://www.bellacoin.com/downloads/BellaCoin-win.rar Sincerely, Syntaks

Mrjitter, The only mining done was ~30k coins of 54 million total. I explained that and the reason for it in my original post. The one mistake if you want to call it that was that I posted late here while I had posted on another forum maybe several hours beforehand (out of respect for this board I won't post a link to or name the other forum but you can ask in private if you need proof). I also explained that in my post. If you think BellaCoin's a shitcoin, that's your opinion and I can't be mad at ya for it. What I can tell you though is that I've done whatever I can from the ground up to try to make everything as fair and "perfect" as it can be and I've put my ass into my work. If you'd support it, I'd be glad to have you be part of the community. If not, I wish you the best of luck in crypto just the same. Best regards, Syntaks

Addresses seem to stick now. The wallet.dat from the old wallet imported fine and the coins I managed to mine before I lost my previous addresses are there and confirmed. No more c++ errors. Mining another coin atm, but I might switch back to this one. Good work on the wallet and best of luck with your coin! Edit: I seem to be stuck at 6056 https://i.imgur.com/cokSuB5.jpg

Would you mind clicking on "Transactions" in the pool and taking a screen shot for me? You'll get them but the net hashrate's been fluxuating back and forth since launch naturally. The maturity's at 120 confirms (this helps prevent double-spends, etc.) and transactions among peers 6 confirms. Regards, Syntaks

They're only slow due to small amount of people mining right now but 120 confirms is there for good reason. I'm glad you're seeing the confirms though! =)

The idea behind this coin resonates with me. BellaCoin for a daughter named Bella to encourage kindness. Beautiful. BellaCoin is still perfect for GPU miners because the difficulty is low enough (.42958...) to solo mine. I've mined a lot of coins now and solved a few problems with each coin. These tips will be useful to other newbies miners. For Windows: 1. Download the wallet into a folder of its own that isn't too deep in a directory structure (Windows has a glitch that sometimes blocks access to ports for exe files that are several folders deep) 2. Run BellaCoin-qt.exe 3. When Windows asks whether to allow access to the network simply choose yes. 4. Let BellaCoin-qt find other connections to the network and download the block chain. 5. Encrypt your wallet (choose Settings->Encrypt Wallet). Let BellaCoin-qt close/shut down. 6. BellaCoin-qt creates a folder in the same place where Windows is installed: ...\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Roaming\BellaCoin\ It might not be visible because the AppData directory is usually hidden by default. If you can't find it, open windows explorer (the yellow folder icon), press the ALT key to see the menu, select Tools->Folder Options, choose the View tab, then find and click the "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" radio button. 7. Create the bellacoin.conf with windows notepad or some other text editor and save it in the \BellaCoin folder (it's the same folder with the wallet.dat file). Note that the originally suggested rpcport=10554 was supposed to be 10555. If 10555 doesn't work for you try another. rpcport=8108 works for me. Make sure your text editor doesn't add a .txt or some other extension to the end of the file. The wallet needs to see bellacoin.conf , not bellacoin.conf.txt. I'm solo mining with the following bellacoin.conf: server=1 rpcport=8108 rpcuser=yourusername rpcpassword=yoursecretpassword rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 listen=1 6. Close and reopen BellaCoin-qt wallet just to make sure it picks up the config file settings, especially server=1 which allows it to solo mine. 7. Open your scrypt miner, probably in a DOS prompt style window and start mining. My batch file for my GTX 660ti contains: cudaminer.exe --algo=scrypt -d 0 -i 0 -C 1 -m 1 -l K7x32 -R 3 -o 127.0.0.1:8108 -u yourusername -p yoursecretpassword Make sure the rpcport (8108 in this case), the yourusername and yoursecretpassword match the bellacoin.conf file. Your specific miner flags, such as "-l K7x32" will vary, but it is documented in the miner software. Cudaminer can be found here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=167229.0 , and AMD mining software is well documented all over the interwebs. Each pool will have instructions for mining with a pool. PS I solo mined 3 blocks with the above settings while typing this. EDIT: Make sure the BellaCoin-qt wallet is open while mining.

New post in support of this lovely coin.. http://bitbillions.net/2014/03/08/alt-currencies-introducing-bella-coin/I think this coin has great value. I am a mother and as soon as I read on why BELLACOIN was created it actually brought tears to my eyes. We need more kind hearted developers taking note of this and more and more women getting involved in Crypto especially as this coin is here to help our next generation flourish. I am for sure supporting this coin.

(devilish plans inside) ) Yup, I'm a bit obsessed by it This thing was almost strangled at birth, but is actually quite a decent looking coin, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=430816.0I'll look for coins rising from the ashes..... and wonder what you are up to........ What can you do with an almost dead coin that is trading low? acquire a bunch or more...and wait for some "news" for it. I just realized that you can actually make that news yourself. I know , its playing dirty but who i'm no saint.

Hey folks,
Firstly I'm sorry for not responding sooner, I've been here all night. The notifications from bitcointalk end up in my spam folder on gmail. I'll be messaging everyone back that sent me a private message right now. Thanks for your support and patience I appreciate it.

Just installed the Windows wallet and crikey there is a lot of good/useful stuff in here! I have been saying for a while it would be good to try to add some of the most used functionality directly into a wallet and you sir have achieved it spectacularly! For anyone who has not seen it yet we are talking about: - Block explorer
- News feed
- Network statistics
- Multiple pool status's
- Voucher redemption?
- Trade statistics
- All alongside the standard wallet functionality!
All that's really missing is a live candlestick price graph ( typical user - never satisfied!)

Your chance to win!I wanted to remind everyone that in less than FIVE HOURS we will have our fourth drawing, this means we will be adding two more coins to our exchange! The good news is that you don't need to be at the top of the list for a chance to win, all you need is a minium of 100 votes (more is better, of course ) and you will be entered into the random drawing which will be streamed live. Vote now @ https://www.cryptoaltex.com/index.php?page=newcoin

Great coin with a great cause. These are the types of coins I like to see. Coins with a good purpose.
Have you considered changing the coins color or adding something unique to them every couple of months? Im not sure how difficult that would be to impliment but would be neat to have different versions of Bella coins.

One other thing I would consider is moving Bittrex to the top of the Exchange section of the website until Cryptorush resolves its problems with Bitcoin, Litecoin, and other coin withdrawals.
The other 2 exchanges I have yet to figure out how to place orders on, so as of now Bittrex is the only exchange I trust using until I can figure out how to use the other 2 listed.
Plus it looks weird with the 3 exchanges starting with the letter C being above the exchange starting with the letter B. lol

yes which exchange, anybody home? Cryptorush has / had the most volume and site and exchange should be back up for business soon. Bittrex has 2nd most volume but very low buy orders. Good place to put some orders in if you want someone to sell to you cheap, others do. Miners desperately need to sell the coins they mine so I suggest anyone who likes Bela to go find an exchange and buy some. Miners need buyers to make mining worthwhile. Bela is way undervalued in my opinion. I still hold some. I held almost 5% of BELA at one time but sold most of it at a much lower price than I'd have liked.

In the current climate the majority of miners are mining speculatively. I think Bella is an excelent choice for speculative mining as a result of the comparatively low (constant) block reward, good/solid cause and experienced/dedicated/active developer.
When the market picks up the vast majority of alt-clones will wither and die, I would not expect BellaCoin to be one of them.

I've seen the dev's posts on cryptocointalk and of all of the current batch of altcoin devs, he seems to be one of the very few that can do more than just clone a coin.
Also, a lot of work has gone into the BellaCoin wallet and it is completely unique to anything else out there. This is a coin to definitely watch out for!!

Hi guys. We've added BellaCoin to our pool, check it out here: http://poollo.comYou only need your PixCoin address as username, no need to register: http://poollo.comWe have 3 different ports for different difficulties: stratum+tcp://poollo.com:11008 stratum+tcp://poollo.com:11032 stratum+tcp://poollo.com:11256 The 32 one is auto adjust between 8 and 512 with target Time: 15, retarget Time: 90, variance Percent: 30 Fees are 0.9%, and payments are calculated and automatically sent to the wallet mining address every 2 minutes. If you are familiar with NOMP multipool capabilities (or want to check how development is going) you can check out our Scrypt multipool switcher, in which BellaCoin is included. Generate your private key here: (BETA, PLEASE DON'T USE FOR NOW) and start multi mining now. Currently, in beta testing phase, the coins included for Scrypt profit switching are PixCoin, GlobalBoost and, of course, BellaCoin. The mining address is: stratum+tcp://poollo.com:(BETA, PLEASE DON'T USE FOR NOW) Please, PM me or post here if you start using it, test, comments, whatever...

I presume the public key generated is to be used as the username? Will there be payouts in the beta test? How are payouts done? Is there a dashboard or some way to check status? Oh, I see my public key under "bellacoin" in the "workers" page. Your private key url above has a typo--missing an "l".

Hello curiouser, thanks for testing Yes, there are payouts as soon as a block is confirmed by the network, in fact we have the payment processor to work every 2 minutes. If you want to make sure everything is working, please, connect to the Scrypt-N pool where we are mining coins with very low diffs (H2OCoin, GiarCoin...) and we find blocks every few minutes ( stratum+tcp://poollo.com:6666 ) As you have seen in the key generation page you can generate an address for all coins in the pool using your private key, so you can start mining just using a Vertcoin miner, for example sgminer: http://sgminerwindows.com/ sgminer --nscrypt -o stratum+tcp://poollo.com:6666 -u yourpublickey –p x To check that payouts are being made you can download the h2o and giarcoin wallets and incorporate your private key or check on blockexplorers with the public key you can see on key.html page. Feel free to ask. For the rest of interested pleople, if you speak Spanish or are ok with using google translator we have detailed instructions on how to mine with us here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=599314.0

Small question guy: how much hashrate pools support?
How much do you have? http://poollo.com should be able to support, in theory, more than 1000 MH/s (1 GH/s) combined between Scrypt and Scrypt-N multipools (with coin switching, website, etc), but we never hit that much...

What private key are you importing? It's not the one that's used to generate all the coins private keys, let me explain: - Go to http://poollo.com/key.html- Type into "3) Input private key hex" the private key you generated the first time. - In the next screen choose "Bellacoin" at the end section, "Coin formatted keys". - You will get 2 strings, the wallet public address and the private key for BellaCoin, it's on the textbox named "Private Bellacoin key in wallet import format". That's the one you have to use with the "./BellaCoind importprivkey " PS: You can give a name to the Wallet, so it's easy to recognize, the full command would be, for example: Bellacoind importprivkey 69g7Kv4aWAdj6pigrbsfJYVrpwzdgKyY9fxeJsJHe3mcwSKUB2C "Pollo.com Mining Wallet"

Probably it's that, it was configured at 10 minimum payment which is too high for this coin. I've moved it to just 1, let me know if you get it, if not, send me your mining public key and I'll let you know the amount due. If you don't feel like using more mining power for now give me your wallrt public address and I'll send it manually.

I guess that your public wallet address is BRiakpjwMxEzf5eQbQCCGyUTfzYphakFrd, right? If that is the case the coins are flowing now: http://explore.bellacoin.com:2750/address/BRiakpjwMxEzf5eQbQCCGyUTfzYphakFrdBellacoin needs 120 blocks mined for the coins to mature (it's like that by default, we can't change that at pool level), which is a LOT for a coin like this, with this high difficulty. It usually takes 5/6 hours to mature, but at the end you will always get them, don't worry

Are you sure? You are still mining with e94934a00285486892f4f98868224b663668ad78 , right? The blocks are being paid to BRiakpjwMxEzf5eQbQCCGyUTfzYphakFrd which seems the public wallet associated to your private key. I can't know for sure because I don't know your private NOMP key. Can you try to input your private key at http://poollo.com/key.html and see what is the "Public Bellacoin address" that you get at the next screen after choosing "Bellacoin" in the "Coin formatted keys" combo? If you still see the "wrong" public key send me a PM and we will try to solve it using the private key, ok?

Bella coin wallet is amazing. majority of the wallets are simply where you transfer coins, but they have developed it further.
it has
Pools voucher redemption mining calculator block explorer trade stats
ridiculously cheap

It is the currency I mined the most. Huge potential. I would not be surprise to see its value getting x100 during the next months...

You might want to contact the admins at http://pock.io to get Bela added as a payment currency. Last time I exchanged emails with them, they said they were going to be adding more coins soon. Just a heads up :-)

There is something up, because the coinmining.pw pool hasn't seen a block in close to three days. Pool withdrawals aren't working, obviously.... Funny idea for a faucet, instead of let the people solve a capcha or something similar they only have to play a normal play of chess, anyway i find the ai levels a bit too many even if maybe is better to give it a try because i think that maybe will be more hard then i think...

Bring your BELA to ICO CHESSCOIN : "ICO investors using BellaCoin will contribute with a fixed ratio: 1Bela = 0.00001000BTC" I am trying to find ways to earn bela (apart from buying it), so far this is what I found: - No faucet. - No mining pool. - No windows miner. - I can't even cash out my bela won on bellachess app on android, it tells me "Try it later". Am I missing something?

is this pure PoW or with PoS? how can i mine through wallet?
It seems to be a pure PoW. You may watch this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1373100.0 which seems to have more activity. To mine through the wallet you have to activate mining and add nodes, here is a copy of my post on the other thread: There's a lot of interest going on now on Bella coin,on the nodes mention I have added the nodes one by one but still nothing happen my wallet cannot and will not sync at all I plan to purchase Bellacoin seeing that it has a lot of good potential..
I use the windows wallet, I added nodes, it took sometime but it synched. Here is how I launch it (activating mining and adding different nodes I found here and there on the fly): bellacoin-qt.exe -gen -addnode=98.115.147.74:10554 -addnode=45.55.150.64 -addnode=node01.novaexchange.com:10554 -addnode=103.253.43.162:35800 -addnode=103.253.43.162:38833 -addnode=103.253.43.162:47157 -addnode=103.253.43.162:53408 -addnode=108.124.29.199:10554 -addnode=108.97.6.214:53530 -addnode=108.97.6.214:58519 -addnode=108.97.6.214:62756 -addnode=115.76.235.155:61917 -addnode=117.198.226.26:55957 -addnode=117.198.226.98:54255 -addnode=117.198.228.62:61880 -addnode=105.157.147.196:10554 -addnode=128.68.35.124:10554 -addnode=198.27.81.25:10554 -addnode=42.118.157.96:10554 -addnode=42.119.17.45:10554 -addnode=45.55.150.64:10554 -addnode=70.181.47.97:10554 -addnode=85.24.169.215:10554 -addnode=85.24.169.215:4947 -addnode=98.115.147.74:10554 -addnode=192.52.166.80:10554 -addnode=98.206.56.123:10554 -addnode=46.254.11.158:10554 If you don't want to mine then remove -gen. You can also use Help -> Debug window -> Console (from the wallet) to activate mining by typing setgenrate true and you can add nodes by typing addnode <node> add
When I launch it with the generate option it uses up almost all my cpu (which is normal because it is mining), however I have no logs so I don't really know what it is doing. I never kept it overnight or for a long period to see if it mines something ... (ie I have no proof that the wallet miner works). You will also have Host srv.bellacoin.com not found
because the wallet is not up-to-date.

The transfers seem to be stuck once again, kellendil, would it be easy for you to rerent that rig please? Or maybe tell me how and from whom you rented it? İ rented the rig from miningrentals.com. You have to choose a scrypt rig and the speed you want. The minimum amount renting time is 3 hours. İ dont know how much speed you need.. İ rented 350 mh i think it was too much Dont know exactly how much hashing power you need to move the bella blockckain effectively.. İn my case all stucked transactions got through in 5 minutes. So less would be enough i think. then you have to go to https://prohashing.com/explorer/Bellacoin/, the only active pool for bella. Make an account. How to mine prohashing.com:3333, password "c=Bellacoin" put this in the pool options of the rented rig. so: stratum: prohashing.com:3333 username: (the one you chosse at prohashing no worker name or somethimg) password: c=Bellacoin depending on the hashing power it should work very fast. And let your wallet open so you can see live that everthing works

Does this mean Belas were directly credited on your poloniex address? I mean if you had to withdraw Belas, then somebody must have had to keep mining for the transaction to be confirmed ...

İt was done in 5 or 10 minutes but i rented high hashing power maybe thats why it was confirmed so fast. Do you have any unconfirmed tx ? There still is something I don't uderstand. Let's name ktx a transaction of yours . As far as my understanding goes, here is how I see things: ktx1 is stuck k mines Belas to move the blockchain ktx1 is confirmed (after 5 or 10 minutes) k continues to mine Belas for 3 hours k earns some additional Belas (because he mined for 3 hours) k wants to send his earned Belas to poloniex in ktx2 ktx2 is stuck (cuz noone is mining) unless k is still holding his mined Belas Can you please point out what's not correct in my scenario? And yes I do have one unconfirmed transaction.

so with 320 mh/s i got many coins but i dont know how many.. But in btc value i got my money back (renting fees) and my transaction went to poloniex so it was a good deal for me Good for you then . Does this mean Belas were directly credited on your poloniex address? I mean if you had to withdraw Belas, then somebody must have had to keep mining for the transaction to be confirmed ... And yes I do have one unconfirmed transaction. Exactly, you are right if you choose the payout method at prohashing '' Bellacoin'' it doesnt work. You have to choose ''BTC'' payout so it pays off your rental fee. The standard payout method is BTC at prohashing, i forgot it to change to bellacoin because of that my bellacoin tx was confirmed and i got btc for mining bellacoin. The platform directly exchanges your bella for btc if you leave it like that. After all tx are confirmed, strangely you cant mine anymore bella and it switches to the most profitable mode. İ think its due to the non existing tx thats why you cant move the blockchain. Maybe you can mine it endlessly if you choose bella from the beginning as payout, i didnt try that. Because you keep the blockchain active with your own tx. So you mine 10 minutes bella, your tx gets confirmed and you get btc payout. For the rest of time (2.50 h) you mine most profitable. EDİT: Btw i dont know much much hashing power is needed maybe i rented to much, less would be enough too i think. We have these problems because no one mines bella...

Ah, that's the info I was missing, now it makes sense to me, thx for clearing that up. We have these problems because no one mines bella...
Yes, once ChessCoin dropped backing BellCoin (dropped the Bela rate from 1k sats to 100 sats), it was no more profitable for anybody to get Belas to invest them ...

Yep, we all wanna know why . No announcement of any new development has been made (at least on the BellaCoin threads), maybe that's just some pure speculation there ...

What do you guys think are the main things BELA would need to survive? Some multi algo / change algo stuff to ensure consistent mining perhaps. Just fixing all the dead links to bellacoin.com in the wallet would be a good start. Any other ideas?

Indeed fixing the dead links in the wallet would be a great start, especially that now there are pools where it could be mined. Also updating the website would be good. Bela is earned when you play chess and might be lost when you bet against someone on the network and lose, to me, that's a restricted range of use cases, maybe we could imagine the possibility to use it to buy chess related staff in a market reachable from the app ... Waiting for bounty . .. For what ?

Days ago there were speculations that a giant investing company is joining bella. I think it was the reason the sudden doubling of price few days ago. Now no more news on that big company. Didn't reached an agreement I assume.

First Major upgrade for BELA in 3 years!!
THE ISSUE Belacoin’s blockchain has been affected by an increase in orphaned blocks and long delays in transactions. These issues stem from the current mining difficulty regulator: the Kimoto Gravity Well (KWG).
KWG retargets the mining difficulty after every block is found. It is very sensitive, so one large miner or mining pool can cause the difficulty to surge. When that miner or mining pool leaves, the rest of the Belacoin miners have to crack an unreasonably difficult block.
KIMOTO GRAVITY WELL
The Kimoto Gravity Well difficulty regulator was designed by Dr. Kimoto Chan and originally implemented in Megacoin. It was developed to deal with the issue of large mining pools hooking up to a blockchain and mining a large amount of coins in a short period of time. Unfortunately, when the mining pool leaves, the difficulty remains until the next block is found by the average miners. The Kimoto Gravity Well worked in its time, but it is now outdated and causes more bad than it does good.
PROPOSED SOLUTION :
We will be switching the mining algorithm from the current Kimoto Gravity Well to Dark Gravity Wave. Dark Gravity Wave averages mining power over recent blocks to reduce large spikes in difficulty when a large miner or mining pool hooks up to the network.
Here are some ways that Dark Gravity Wave can help Belacoin:
Regular Block Intervals Fewer fluctuations in difficulty mean regular blocks and transaction times.
Fewer Orphaned Blocks Regular block intervals reduce the frequency of orphaned blocks.
No Time Warp Exploit A reduction in selfish mining Together, these improvements help makeBelacoin better for the average user. The days of waiting 12-36 hours for a Belacoin transaction to go through will be over, and regular 2-minute block times will make Belacoin competitive with other fast altcoins.

Recently, the price of a coin is very pleasing. Many investors have returned the invested funds. News from developers added popularity to projects. Does anyone have any experience using wallet Bela on coinomi?
