Hi all, sorry I haven't posted here recently. I've been very involved with CGA in the IRC, which I much prefer over a conventional forum. I wanted to give everyone a reminder: If you mined on http://cga.inceptioncraft.net/mpos/ and have any coins left there, you must withdraw your coins by April 19, 2014. On April 20, 2014, any remaining coins will be put into a community bounty pot that I am setting up. I posted on March 19, 2014 saying that this would happen on April 19 (here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=437950.msg5797416#msg5797416), and there are still 60.55846185 CGA on there that belong to miners. I will emailing everyone that has 1 or more CGA on the pool soon as a final reminder.

I have plans to open a PPLNS pool back up when I have more time, but my priority now is running a supernode, block explorer, and programming new fork protections and utilities for CGA right now.
The forum strives to allow free discussion of any ideas. All policies are built around this principle. This doesn't mean you can post garbage, though: posts should actually contain ideas, and these ideas should be argued reasonably.

Thanks for all the replies,

i have it up and running now with all the help i received. not hashing very much as my card runs pretty hot so i am at about 25% potential but i am hoping to get hold of some other cards. what would be the best bet to go with mining this coin if i was to decide to invest in some hardware?
If your card runs hot but is not getting much hash rate then see if you can lower the clock rates (which is what impacts the heat) and check what the max "Intensity" is that you can run it at without getting errors. For me, that was --I 11
but your card may need different settings for keeping HW=0
Note that it is also important to set the correct number of "shaders"
and you can play with the the other nrs that I listed in an earlier post - I chose the settings based on getting the max nr of WU (Work Units)
as well as high hash rate while keeping the card not hotter than 75 deg C.
I left the PC case open to allow the card's fan to suck in ambient air instead of the already hot air inside a case - I know of people setting up a floor fan to send cooler air towards the PC as well. Most dedicated mining rigs do not have a case at all, just a motherboard, power supply and a "riser" cable for each GPU so they can be spread out to draw more air. All in a crate or open frame.

Yeah like mine right here

In my opinion, the idea of giving most coins to the investors, instead of miners, is just plain stupid. This is not the proper way to distribute a currency. It is not fair.

This guy is copy pasting nonsense from other threads to build his post count. Will probably try to scam somebody later.

Ya that doesn't make sense when applied to CGA (since all the CGA is mined first).... WTF

Edit: check this one out: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=428589.msg5953659#msg5953659

My CGA pool is reopened and running the newest version of MPOS, featuring a new theme! I have put the fee back at 1%, but the profits will be going into a CGA community bounty pot that I have been hinting at here and there. More info on that coming soon.

New pool URL: http://cga.inceptioncraft.net/pool/
Stratum URL:  stratum+tcp://cga.inceptioncraft.net:3333
Payout system: PPLNS (ONLY CGA pool with PPLNS!)
Fee: 1%
Donation: None required, but very much appreciated.

For support requests, I highly recommend you message me on BitcoinTalk or find me in #cganomaly on freenode for the fastest response. I may take a while to respond to emails, so please try BitcoinTalk messages and the IRC channel first.

If you mined on the old MPOS pool, your username and worker name will transfer over and can be used immediately. However, your balances will NOT, and you must withdraw them from the old pool (http://cga.inceptioncraft.net/mpos/) before April 19, 2014 if you wish to keep them. On April 19, 2014, I will be transferring the remaining funds from the old pool to a wallet for funding the future growth of CGA and bounties for community work. If you had over 1 CGA there, I'll be emailing you as well.

He was probably confusing CGA with XSV or other "mail drop" coin of recently.

Price seems to rise steadily.

Edit: Looks like a few are desperate to bring the price down at Poloniex. When the going price is around 0.0045, he/she/they sell it at 0.003.

rumour has it dev working on a secret project for cga
funny, it's almost like I said that in the trollbox earlier today!
Yes, I am working on a secret project for CGA. If it's successful, I anticipate that most coin developers will start using my code and include it in their coins as well. The project has to do with a method for killing off a fork in an entire coin network and making a network a great deal more secure. It's a very powerful tool, so I will be extremely careful about what coin developers get to use the code. More details to come if it works out. just remember though, buy CGA while it's still at this low, because this kind of stuff will make the price go crazy high Wink

when I saw the AUR fail today with the forks and 51% attacks, I thought about how I could have prevented that or fixed it with my work. Just to give you an idea of what this could be capable of.... Smiley

EDIT: To be clear, this specific project will not 'fix' a 51% attack vulnerability. This project is focused around preventing damage from forks and stopping them from spreading. If AUR was targeted with a 51% attack, that was a result of poor network hashrate management and the low difficulty because people stopped mining. It is a lesson to coin devs (keep the network hashrate spread out) and to users (mine your coin if you want the value to go up).

Good to see another SSL pool!

Please remember to spread your hashrate around... Check out https://cga.inceptioncraft.net/pool/index.php and help to ensure the blockchain is reliable and secure.

It's never a good idea to concentrate all the hashing in one place! It's often unavoidable with new coins until some sanity reigns LOL but now that CGA is getting a stable and higher hashrate, this should be a factor in choosing your primary pool. :-)

If we all do our bit to help keep a coin "right"... we all win!
