Wallet says 2 active connections now.  Syncing 10 weeks. but is it normal to take so long...its been syncing for a while and still says 10 weeks

If you hover over the synch-ing bar with your mouse it should show the progress in blocks - if that number is creeping up you are OK.

FYI, my wallet has two connections at the moment.

It says "processed 0 of ...."

So there doesn't seem to be anything happening.  What should I do now?

Are you using Windows?

If you are, try the following:

1. close down the CGA wallet

2. backup everything (separately and again) in your AppData/Roaming/CryptographicAnomoly folder

3. do step 2. TWICE to different locations (I usually use a USB key for one backup, esp, for wallet.dat)

4. Delete everything from that folder *EXCEPT* your wallet.dat and cryptographicanomoly.conf

5.  edit the cryptographicanomaly.conf file and add 'connect=cga.inceptioncraft.net' (without quotes)

6. re-start wallet and wait for it to synch

7. shut down wallet, remove 'connect=cga.inceptioncraft.net' from your .conf file

8. re-start wallet

Fingers crossed, all OK ...

Edited to add: the Windows question was just for the file locations (I don't know what it would be on a Mac or Linux)

There is NO cryptographicanomoly.conf file in the folder?

There is NO cryptographicanomoly.conf file in the folder?

Make one using notepad (or something similar) and add these lines:

Code:
server=1
listen=1
rpcuser={whatever you want}
rpcpassword={whatever you want}
rpcport=13932

then do the above^^^ adding the 'connect='

Yup, CGA went from 12th to 10th place just in the past days, so voting really makes a difference.
The only reason we are 3rd on Swisscex is because others dumped a lot of money in the top coins,
buying votes. For example Marinecoin (I had never heard of it before) was suddenly popping up
at nr 2 position with 3800 (bought) votes. Overnight it jumped to 1st position by adding another
4000 bought votes. I have not looked into it, but I suspect that as fast as it rises, it will also fall.
Only benefit is the "bought voting" income for the exchange, the coin will not do well on an exchange
without a community behind it.
We will just continue to vote and get on the exchange with a good support.

Oh coinwarz...  CGA gets listed, and is ranked the most profitable coin to mine for a bit.  Difficulty spikes, and now it's the least profitable coin to mine (can't even pay power costs).  heh

Would be nice if they used even a 30 min average.

I would really like to see CGA on Mintpal

I'm giving my votes to it.  I think it will have great potential.  It's not a coin that I could mine tons of like Doge.  But few a day with a high value would be ideal.

As would I but unfortunately it would take over 3 BTC for us just to get to #2 on the list, this BTC voting is quite flawed. GDC (#1 on the list) has 17.8145 BTC in votes... WTF is GDC and who would dump 17.8145 BTC in votes to just see it on mintpal? And I don't think it is Grandcoin (could be tho)

Because it's so rare to mine so many cga, the volume is low
