Somebody please help before I lose the will to live.

I'm about 50 hours in my 3rd attempt to get Armory to work.

I've read through all the posts and tried every tip I could find, but I still can't get the damn thing to work.

I've spent another month downloading the full node all over again, it is 100% updated.

I have downloaded the latest version of Armory and configured to the best of my ability.

I have done the mapping (having the files on an external drive).

Finally, at 2 am this morning I was ready to start up Armory.

I did, it connected and went 'Online', then it started to prepare Databases.

I went to bed, got up 7 hours later and it hadn't moved at all, still at 'Preparing databases'.

Tried to restart it, now it won't even go 'Online', just says 'Preparing Databases' but doesn't seem to move at all.

Here are the log-files if somebody could please take a look:

Armorylog: https://pastebin.com/jPuZmsU4

DBlog:  https://pastebin.com/Rgs97CDM

Any help would be greatly appreciated - I have bitcoin stuck in an Amory wallet I haven't been able to access for 3 months now.

1) In your Armory datadir folder (C:\Users\hykki_000\AppData\Roaming\Armory\), create a file named armorydb.conf. Add this line in there:

Code:
satoshi-datadir=F:\Bitcoin

2) Start Bitcoin-Qt manually with the proper -datadir path (F:\Bitcoin)

3) Open the command line, browse to your Armory installation folder and run ArmoryDB.exe

4) At this point ArmoryDB will start building the database. You can now run ArmoryQt.exe and wait till it finishes scanning your wallets.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I've done point 1 and 2, but when trying point 3 it says 'access is denied'.

I'm not really familiar with working in the prompt, is there another way of starting it?

In fact, when I browse to the Armory folder there isn't any 'ArmoryDB.exe' file listed there....?

I found out how to do this from the prompt, but is says the file doesn't exist (which makes sense as it is not in the folder in the first place)

You said:

In my Armory installation folder (C:\Users\hykki_000\AppData\Roaming\Armory\) there is no ArmoryDB.exe file.

Am I supposed to look elsewhere.

I tried starting it up again affer the changes in 1+2, it still doesn't connect and after approx. 5 hours  still says 'Preparing Databases' with NO movement at all on the bars.

That's your Armory datadir. The installation folder is where your binaries are, typically in '/program files (x86)/armory' on Windows.

Ah, ok. Well, in that folder there's a 'ArmoryDB' file but not a 'ArmoryDB.exe' file? Are those 2 the same?

Ok, I tried restarting the entire system and this time it has actually started building databases, the bar is at 9% and says 2 hours expected build time.

Node is still offline.

I'll get back to you with a status report tomorrow morning, it past 1 am here now.

Yes, your system is probably set not to display known file extensions.

We can deal with that next.

I'd highly recommend you enable the "show file extension" option in Windows: https://www.howtogeek.com/205086/beginner-how-to-make-windows-show-file-extensions/

It'll about confusion when you have files with the same name but different extensions

I finally got it to work and have now succesfully transfered my bitcoin to a more userfriendly wallet.

Now I'll just have to do battle with trying to access my coins from the various forks, I'm sure that will be easy peasy!   Wink

Thank you very much for your help, much appreciated!
