There is no doubt that the blockchain tech will widely be used in finance sector and almost every other field where ledger/record has to be kept securely. Blockchain provides secure, transparent and decentralized data keeping option so every field can utilize this. It seems like everything can be if we want to. The problem is there is a conflict of interest with the old system.
Some people try hard to manipulate data to take personal advantage. And for these people, blockchain is the worst nightmare they can get.
