I just started mining on Win10 (before I was on HiveOS). My GPUs are approx running at least 10C higher then they were on HiveOS. I have tested 2-3 algos and results are same. Is this normal ? if not what could be causing this ? What setting might be wrong ? I am not an expert in Afterburner maybe some problem there ? Previously I was OCing using HiveOS web GUI which works differently then Afterburner.

Yes, that does not make sense.  You did not mention what cards you are using, but assuming they are Nvidia, reduce your TDP to somewhere between 65% - 70%.  And set you fan speed in Afterburner manually to something like 60%, 70% something more like that.

How many times are you mining without cleaning your cards ? I will share with you my personal experience. I manage a few mining computers of my colleagues and that made me build a computer of my own. I choose the cheapest option, Nvidia 1060 cards. I clean the cards after more than 3 months using them and the result were astonishing.

After the cleaning the card running 65 degree celsius before is now running at 57 degree celsius.

Beside this you can try to give higher fan speed through MSI Afterburner to your cards. And also lowering the core clock, lows the heat of a card.

Rig is 12*1050ti on G4400. Even though they have a lot of dust on them now, it is not why they are running hot as I have switched back to HiveOS and temp are back to normal.

Example with ethereum :

On HiveOS  OC settings are- Core Clock : 100 Mhz, Memory : 1950 Mhz, Fan speed : 69, PL : 57     temps are usually +- 59C

on Afterburner : Core Clock : 100 Mhz, Memory :+950 Mhz, Fan speed : 78%, PL : 72%      temps are 64-69C

You have normal temperatures, don't worry. I think that below 75 degrees the temperature is normal. On my GTX 1070ti the temperature is 70-72 and they normally work.

that's a normal temperature Boy, indeed if compared with mining in HiveOS is high.

to decrease temperature can do the settings -Core clock and Memory and +fan speed

I know these are normal temp but still 10C (at least) is a big number and it stops me from getting better hashrate in other algos as I have to lower the power limit otherwise I will have to run fans at 100%.

well if the only change was the change of operating system, then I guess there is the reason. I think the reason why cards are hotter in windows, is they way it operates? I mean in windows the driver allows the card to use the boost mechanism, which allows card to work at higher speed, but cause more heat.. maybe in hiveos there were no such function in the driver?
