I checked the number of posts and found a difference between the visible number per user and the actual number.
The number appears to be true for my account but is wrong for some accounts."If we ignore posts in Serious discussion/ Ivory Tower / mods"

1. Posts do not get counted in Serious discussion section
Bitcoin Forum > Other > Serious discussion
2. Both Posts and Activity do not get counted in Ivory Tower section.

- Posts in Serious Discussion only activate a potential-activity period. They do not increase your post count.
 - Posts in Ivory Tower neither activate a potential-activity period nor increase your post count.

For this reason you are seeing the difference between their number of posts under their username and actual number of posts on the post history page.

There are gaps in the number of actual posts vs. the post count on a user's profile due to moved threads, among other things. (Can only remember that moved threads add to the disparity. theymos wrote something about this before)

You have 3497 posts. 3 of them are in the serious discussion sections, which don't count. 6 of them are redirection topics, which don't count. So your post count should be 3488, which is what it is.

Not sure why you're getting a number, higher than the indicated post number on profile pages but for other accounts, I think you may have other boards (apart from the above mentioned boards) on ignore as well.
On a side note: There was a recount on March, 11, 2018.

I did a recount of post counts earlier today. There are several bugs which cause the post count to drift from its real value over time. The current count is the accurate one.

Which means "post count (# of Posts) on the profile will be  <= number of post (Actual #) in the post history page" always.

So, lets rephrase the statement that theymos had...

Well that's not right then. We are seeing different counts. I not sure how about others. The gap is huge in between 4195 and 4008. There must more cased like Jet Cash's one.
