The block reward was actually half than what promised for the first day... i feel really sad  Sad

Forgive me if I'm doing the math wrong but isnt the block reward actually a 5th of what was promised?

Promised: 1-1,250,000 x2
Actual: 1-250,000 x2

Your math is ok..

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

lol, i'd guess it dosent matter what the reward is, so its the same for everyone. Coins will live if there is somtin special about them like comunnity, lots of exchanges, games stores. But there is no matter where the decimal point is :-)

I think you guys are misunderstanding.

It looks like there was a typo in the original ann.  We all see that.

However it doesn't matter because ALL POOLS were paying the same amount.  It's not like something was skewed along the way and someone was getting bigger payouts and some people were getting less.  If understand math and ratios, it's all the same in the end.  The maximum number of coins and premine remained the same, it's just that the amount of coins per block were less.  So what?  We all still have the same ratio of coins.

I see nothing wrong here.  In fact, this is better.  It means EACH coin is worth more than it originally was thought to be.  The rate of which coins are mined is less. That makes the coin more valuable.

The pre-mine -> and normal Mine ratio is way less now, thats my problem.

Yeah, that may be so but listen, it's still 1%.  Sure it takes a bit longer to get those coins, but the coins will be worth more because of it.  I don't think the dev is out to dump coins on an immature market any time soon.  If FACT.  Suchpool had problems with double payouts and everything and was very negative - the Dev gave him 4M to cover his loses so he could keep operating.  Now THAT is a good use for the coins. Think about it.

And I know from hearing random stories that the DEV has helped others as well.

Yea I understand that, a good explanation what happened would be appreciated by the community, not some vague message saying there was some confusion... This makes the coin and the dev look bad.

It would be also great to hear from the Dev what he does with the coins, put a list in the OP, just my thoughts..

And yea its a good use of the coins, I appreciate you told us that

Dedicatedpool.com wouldn't deal with scammy devs.  I truly believe 100% in my heart that this was an oversight by them, and while it sucks, the coin still had a great launch and has no major issues.  I guess I'd like to hear the same as you. What the dev plans to do with the coins would help.

However, because of the first day blocks, we were still getting 500k blocks !!!  And still are.  So the coins are coming in very fast still.

I know that they've given out so many already....  I didn't even know this until eth2, the admin from suchpool told me in the IRC channel.  I was like "much respect to the dev!"  eth2 was very happy too and very impressed.  These are the stories the community isn't hearing.  There are many of them!!

A typo in the original announcement? LOL! Is it a typo on the website as well then? Or is the "value out" of block 1 also a typo? That's two typo's or is it 3 Huh typo in main.cpp lines 850 to 855 Huh

Should we rename this to TYPOCOIN??? You can care less when you accidentally forget to add a digit when paying with TYPOCOIN, because it's still the same value right?

:drumroll: TYPOCOIN - the only Crypto that allows you to make a TYPO and not care! :party-hat:

It looks like cryptexplorer.com doesn't have Saturncoin. What coin is that for?

As for typos...

Quote
Be one of the first people ever who can see the Saturn live and dont forget your camcorder.
Photos are really rare and I bet you can sell them for a huge profit!

"the Saturn" - No... It's just "Saturn" there. This kind of article error is typical of non-native English speakers, and very common with Asians.

"dont" - No... It's "don't".

"Photos are really rare and I bet you can sell them for a huge profit!" - This is just extremely unnatural and either written by a middle-school kid or a non-native English speaker.

So, is a "typo" credible? Absolutely. What's actually the case? Dunno.

The premine was small in reality.  I was going over the numbers in my head.. like if the dev gave away money to pools so we could give block bonuses.  It wouldn't work, it'd eat that premine in no time.   Plus the dev gave away a lot to other pools and people yesterday...

I think it's fine, I'm comfortable with it personally.  We're hashing away and it's being sold on markets.  Launch was smooth...

Remember, we're still getting 500k per block as I write this message.  It hasn't even dropped to 125k yet.

I'm just going to move forward... whatever happens happens..  diff adjusts fast so the blocks will always come quickly.
