This is actually a very good question and it makes a lot of sense to wonder about speed and scalability of Agate blockchain.It will have to be above standards since it is a payment oriented and be able to handle huge number of transactions at all times.

I'm sure someone from the team will answer this one if that is possible at this stage, but testing is already in full force so we should get some results soonish.This will be one of the main focuses for the dev team for sure.

What about merchants, what should make a merchant wish to start using Agate and cryptocurrencies?

The biggest benefit for merchants is I'd say the fact that in the Agate iFiat Ecosystem, all funds are immediately available and spendable for merchant and they would receive the exact dollar value every time.
