there is absolutely no way of telling. only a mixing service can tell you that and that is only if they analyze the coins that come to them for mixing and this doesn't sound like something a mixing service should ever do. they shouldn't store any kind of data from their users either.
all we can say is that these services are using by both people who have dirty money and want to hide things and the average Joe who wants to increase their privacy.

Theres no such thing of level or evil when it comes to this service yet even mixing services doesnt really tend to know on where those funds came from which same as you said they arent tending to track out any transactions and thats the nature of their business but as an owner we do see the risk behind it. Can we recall on what happened to Bitmixer? They do close out their service no matter which is the reason but there are rumors that it is been connected with illegal things which isnt really a surprising thing.

Bitcoin transactions are all public so for people who wants to stay anonymous, they can use those mixing services and unfortunately this is also being used by criminals for them to avoid being traced. But no one can tell you this I think because if you will use this mixing services, you don't provide whether those coins comes from illegal activities or not and as far as I know mixing services don't save any data of transactions. But personally I think that if you are getting involved on illegal activities using cryptocurrency, why would you use Bitcoin that we all know that can possibly traced, if there are cryptocurrency that can be transacted truly anonymously.

Mixing service are only a service for mixing coins if ever you wanted to be extra anonymous but mixing service are not created or intended for any other illegal activites.

But for sure criminals including hackers , scammers , etc are already using these kind of service because they are the ones that are really conscious when it comes to privacy and anonymity.however , we can just always use coins like monero and other anonymous coins so that we can save our self from the hassel and other expenses from using a mixing service

I have not used that service in my life and that is why I do not know much that why normal people are using that service. But it is in my mind that those people will use mixing service who will not allowed from their states for the use of bitcoin. They will mix their coins so that their governments cannot trace him from the address to the money to them.

Besides that there are those people using it who have something shady with their coins. They will want to mix bitcoin in address so not identified by anyone.

You forget something. How can a government know who us Bitcoin or not? Unless you receive a bank transfer from an exchange or similar it's the only way they can know. There is no need to trace an address either, who do you want them to know which address belong to who. If you send bitcoins to an exchange (i.e Bitstamp) and then sell your coins. You transfer your money to your bank account then, so here it is. If a bank/government see a transfer in coming from Bitstamp you can not say you don't use Bitcoin.
This is currently how people get their bank account locked by the bank.

Using privacy focused coins only make sense when you buy them from a decentralized source. Buying these coins from an exchange is definitely a no-go, which basically means that they are worthless. It might sound harsh, but if you can't use such a coin because it's listed on a centralized exchange, there is nothing that coin can offer you aside from its speculative nature. Privacy focused coins belong on decentralized exchanges only, which for the major part isn't the case right now.

That's why I believe regulators outlawing them eventually (which will happen), will be the best ever development for these coins.

Its a inevitable thing! Criminal minds would definitely took this advantage or service to be used because they do know they can even more protect themselves of being caught and mixing service would be a great tool in that case thats why its normal to be included on illegal activities but not totally involved by mixing service itself.

We can use up monero but still most people would end up on accumulating Bitcoin in the end.

I have always used coin mixing services for not-so-holy purposes.Mostly, I use it for transferring funds to my dreammarket account.After the interpol logging the messages of alphabay, I was too scared to use my personal bitcoin address at markets.

I know theres no evidence but saying that it makes no sense is wrong because you know tainted coins from the darknet use mixers to hide their trail from the criminal source.

Having that said, other uses for mixers by users who are not criminals would be to hide wealth from the IRS or hide wealth from the wife which is worse than the IRS lol.

You are right. Maybe somene should closely look at all the Mixers' activities to start knowing from where the coins came from. But would I be lying if I say that a lot of them came from the darknet, from pedophiles, from drugs or money laundering?
