Announcing: PovertyCoin
Initial planned release date: 4/26/14 (Not 100% accurate. May be before or after, depending how development goes.)

(Logo to come)

POW: Scrypt
Block rate: 300 seconds
Initial value per block: 100
Halving rate: 150,000 Blocks
Max coins: 30,000,000

PovertyCoin is a cryptocurrency currently in development that actually has a purpose, unlike most other altcoins.
PovertyCoin is designed solely to help people in need.
It also hopefully will help people open there eyes and look around. We spend thousands on mining rigs to "mine" coins to make a profit out of nowhere.
Why not use those rigs to create profit for yourself, but also for others.
That's why 50% of all donations to this cause will go directly to charities to fight poverty and the other 50% will go to development.
We also hope to implement a feature that will automatically deduct 1% of mined earning so that can be donated to charity as well

Of course developers have to eat too, so anyone that donates over .25 BTC (or equivalent) to the cause will earn 12 hours of premine.
The same goes for anyone willing to create a PovertyCoin logo, We might be able to code but our art skills would scare you.

Donations:
BTC: 13mYsKXmpv76xtzpbLVB2wu4EiRYLwGPS7
LTC: LM4uoztJMHGukoVPtR8srHyGz7sVdYAcWR

If you wish to donate using a different form of currency PM and we'll work something out.

Bump!
Show some support guys!
I  don't want to see these post die in the depths of the forum or this coin to be just another crappy altcoin to pump and dump.
Were trying to make less fortunate peoples lives a little easier.

I like it. If you could come up with a clean looking version I'll choose this one.

Those are just two out of the many other coins just like yours. You type a few lines of text about charity, bring out a shit scrypt coin (well not actually bring out, "development" is looking like it's taking time, coingen.io not working that fast these days?) and then expect people to give you money?

You don't have a website, you don't even have a coin, you don't even have a logo for fucks sake. You couldn't have put any less work into this if you tried and your thread deserves to be buried with the rest of the shit out there. Scamming people in the name of charity makes you the worst kind of person. Have you seen the cryptosphere? People are trying to innovate or if they clone they are at least putting some kind of effort into it.

This is the worst shit I've seen in a while. Let me red letter you so you understand a bit better.

SCAM SHIT SCRYPT CLONE - Don't send any money to this half assed scam attempt.

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014

Time itself must have forked. I think you're on the wrong chain.
