What seems to help a bit against the "lagging" of the client is shutting it down, delete "debug.log" from the roaming folder and restart the client.
Not sure what it causes but it helps a bit.

Compiling :

Windows - This will compile huntercoin-qt.exe (this method does not seem to compile the daemon [for me])
Easywinbuilder method (by Phelix)

1. Download Source as Zip from Github
2. Unzip to a folder.
3. In Contrib\easywinbuilder\ folder, double click  "__all_easywinbuilder.bat"
4. Install/download anything it asks (may take 30mins or more)
5. The huntercoin-qt.exe will be in the release folder.. click to run

It's chewing up a truckload of CPU, but that might just be a bug in the game. Not sure. I rather doubt that it's malicious though. There are better ways to distribute malware.
