I don't wan't to delude you @Kashmiri_guy but the site is closed probably by more than one year, almost 6 months that is parked on some company that buy expired domains, probably the owner was not american (USA), he run away by 1 or two years, do you think that there still is some trace somewhere of him ? and if he is not American, do you think that FBI can do something ?

I've also lost 0.4 btc more than three years ago with this site, but at that time all the information collected gone on a closed road, the address registered with the domain if you go with street view was a residential building in nothing in brasil.....

I suggest you to go down a good half pages to read what happened years ago.......

Was a well prepared ponzi scam, and at the beginning so well done that also me defended the site.... lol.

Than as others start to post some info and made some calculation we found that the hash power claimed by the site owner was not true, and then started the decline.

scrypt.cc was not an american site, so outside of USA jursdiction, and the owner name probably, with his brazilian address were all false, is someone more hide than a ghost.

Constantly telling people "I told you so" and discouraging them from going after scammers is not constructive. If you want to be constructive, you should be providing BTC addresses, authority links, screenshots, etc... It would be understandable if you are trying to remind people what where the indicators of this being a scam, but instead you are telling them to give up and trying to convince them that scammers always get away with it!

I don't wan't to defend D4RK5T4R, but the site closed years ago, if a search started when the site was open,and there was signs of the operator still around, could be that an action had sense, but after years, imho no sense to start to reach someone who runs away a long time ago...

This is the point that i think D4RK5T4R is trying to explain, that now after all is ended by years has no meaning to try to search for a scammer that with all the money he made, probably could also have changed country or continent.

I've lost money too here but as (at the time) we didn't found anything, i still think that nothing more can be done.

I see what you're saying... But I don't think making everyone lose hope helps anything. Also, since about a year and a half has passed, the perp could be now less careful and might end up get caught. From the laws that I remember, it is never too late to catch a criminal. Theft is theft. Whether it's recent or old. Only because 1 year, 2, 5, or 20 have passed, the criminal doesn't get forgiven. You are right that it would have been better to start going after the thief the day the site shut down, but the scammer made sure that he shut it down gradually and kept buying more time. Nevertheless, it's never too late, and it won't hurt anyone if people with losses here attempt to gather more info and are given a chance to find the thief. But bullying the victims is terrible. Similar reason you stated as well as that the amount I lost was small relative to my portfolio, didn't save much info and hence the reason I haven't provided much info, but I would never bully any victim here and try to make them lose hope of catching a bad man or giving him what he deserves.

On the contrary, I believe that letting those who are continuing to seek justice or closure be, will learn more and end up being more careful in their future investments. And at the same time, scammers looking through these posts, will realize that they will never be really free knowing that there's always someone looking for them. May they choke on their coins and rot in hell.
