As an educated investor, I don’t easily listen to this kind of news but many people are still follow those people who talk negative about the market maybe because of lack in experience or they are just really depend in news. But since the market trend follows the news, you must also consider this when you are trading in the market.

I like the word educated investors but unfortunately, we have just few of this in the space because almost everyone in this space is a greedy investor since the mindset they had was to get rich quickly and never bothered to learn and understand the nature of the market they are investing in.

Whales take advantage of the mainstream media to generate FUD and mainstream media as long as they make money into their pocket, usually do not care how genuine information is but just carry it anyway. Welcome to the world where anyone who does not even have journalism experience can start a news blog.

People on the record saying one thing then later one they are on the record doing another thing. Just be careful of what you listen to and think, is there something in the background influencing what is being said in the news etc. Always think about it.

The reason they keep doing that is simply because they take those who listen to any word that come out of their mouth as fools. Unfortunately, the mainstream media is so much tied to their spreading of fake news and they care less as long as it is generating a lot of traffic for them since bad news sells the most anyway and would rather be making more money than what the community has to gain. This makes me to wonder why people then still pay attention to all that comes out from the mainstream media.

True! Anything that comes out of the media these days is false, unverified and just a way to drive in traffic and all those forms of ethics in journalism is now a thing of the past.

Unfortunately, people will always want to keep paying attention since most people are new, and they would rather want to know what is going on whether it is true or not, to be able to make market decisions. Some are just smart enough to see if it is indeed reliable information or just a fake one.

The news has a huge impact on the cryptocurrency market so the mainstream news can completely help the market recover after a long period of decline. Because the market is small compared to its potential, I am very hopeful that there will be new sources of investment that will help boost the market.

The reason they follow the mainstream media for their investment decisions is precisely because they are not educated investors, they know they do not really have the capability of making money in this market without help and they look for that help in the media not understanding that the media is not there to help them but to take away their money from them.

But I'm against of spreading fake and false news, this really leads the market into a situation where it shouldn't be. There's a recent the same thing happened about Goldman Sach's news that they stated news spreading about them opening a crypto trading desk were fake.

They gonna get the share easily for the reason that they had a lot of resources/capital to create their own or to have some. News these days are even impacting less on market movement as people now tend to rely on technical details than fundamentals and probably just add up the two together to make a trade.

Mainstream media has always been there just to make money, so it is not surprising when we see them come up with unverified news and we all know that the digital age has even made that easy anyway as any Tom, Dick and Harry these days always end up going into Journalism without any knowledge about the ethics et al.

I have also seen that listening to media will make someone do a business mistake. Some people saw many opportunities last year but because they listened to the media, they didn't buy bitcoin when it was rising but they later express a regretful thoughts.

The point is, since these media said their FUD about bitcoin, cryptocurrency still is growing and listening to people's views most times don't help, media is made up of individuals and their ideas. I don't take to such crap.

While I agree somewhat with this posture, we need to remember that any publicity is good publicity, even if the media is spreading all kind of lies about bitcoin this allows those that do not believe in the mainstream media in a blind way to do their own research and see that bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are not what the media portrays about them and are much more.

Do you mean MSN? Yeah that media site is not to be trusted and everytime they open their mouths the exact opposite happen to bitcoin market. I guess everyone should use our common sense because crypto journalism is one of the worst we have seen. Those media doesn't care if its fake news or not as long as they are getting a steady flow of revenue. You can also see that there is no consensus in the cryptocurrency community when it comes to journalistic standards.

You open this thread long time ago but it is showing the reality of today.  Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies market are in bad shape today because of the ways we read the fake news from mainstream media.  There are controlling traders' emotions through bad and fakes news about cryptocurrency market in other for some of the top short to be able to buy at a cheaper price and sell back again when the market appreciate.

I don't know why people failed to read in between the Lines. the poster was making a viable points why the mainstream media should not be trusted some times. they are misleading. it shows how the so called billionaires of the current industries are trying to outsmart the crypto community again to enrich themselves but it will not work.

Sadly though, there are a lot of noobs investors who is not educated how the market is being played specially by media and the whales. There are even reports that has been lost in translation causing lots of panic before but since the damage has been done, it's hard to reverse it as noobs already fall for the trap.
