What I don't understand: why do crypto investors have such strong biases that they are not realizing losses? Is it better to stay with a shitty coin with -50% and hope that it gets back to the initial value or invest in a new coin / new project with a lot of potential?

I think you should invest 50% only of your funds fiat money then if the market goes down again then invest all your fiat money for investment funds and buy all the altcoin that has a big potential to earn more money instead of holding bitcoin only.
