Does XP give the same hash rate as Vista and 7?  Is one better than another?

I've read that Linux is better for mining, can anyone quantify that?  Also, to those using Linux, how are you monitoring your video cards?  GPU-z doesn't seem to work, not even under Wine.  I don't need the GPU temp nearly as much as I need the VRM temps and voltages.
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

you can get current vdc voltage by 'aticonfig --pplib-cmd "get activity"'. But the vrm temps is still a question for me. need to install windows to see if my card report vrm temps at all tho..

Will that also give voltages and not only temps?
