Hey guys,

I am running cgminer with 4 antminers. All miners run at 2/ghs a second which i am happy with.  I am new to mining and got some questions i just could not find a good answer for online.

I am using 1 worker and just one instance of cgminer, all 4 antminers work at 2gh/s a second so that is 8 gh/s total a second if you ask me. Now in my control panel on bitcoin.cz i can see my stats, at my worker stats it says: Hasrate: Mhash/s: 3113.202. Why does this not say 8gh/s ?

Should i add a worker for each antminer or am i doing it the right way by using all 4 antminers on 1 worker?  Please explain guys, thank you very much!

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

from my experience you do not need additional workers. the has rate varies from time to time. i have 4 sticks clocked to 1.8 gh/s and if i watch the current it ranges from 6-10 gh/s but the average is right around 7.75-8. and it seems the cooler you keep them the faster they will hash. these do get pretty warm with out a fan on them.

Should combine into one worker.

But if you could separate into 4 workers and see individual hash rates if you were inclined?

I recommend that you separate them into individual workers, this will allow you to see each ones results and make it easier to trouble shoot any failures or heat issues in the future.  Saving time and hashing!

unless you have more than 3...then sure, keep them separate- but just as others said, I don't have my  68 block erupters on different workers as that is a colossal waste of time, for me at least. Although, if you do need to experiment, its nice to have a spare worker with credentials so you can test things when trying out configurations.
