Hi everyone,

What are some good exchanges that I should be using?

So far I've only used https://www.coinbase.com, but since it's so limited, what are some other good exchanges out there?
I'm pretty new to the space, so it's pretty intimidating but I'm happy to hear about everyone's thoughts on the subject.

So far my friends have been talking about https://www.huobi.pro and https://www.binance.com to name a couple.  Not totally sure what the differences are aside from flexibility though

My best bet is Coinbase.com if you're a newbie and need to convert fiat into crypto. If you want a wider selection of tokens probably check out Binance.com . If you want something that is easy to use but has a wide variety of tokens, Huobi is coming out with a new virtual currency platform HBUS.com so might be one to look  out for. They haven't launched yet but I'm planning on signing up for the email list.

I just recently made an account on Binance and did a few little trades.  The user interface isn't too bad, and they executed my orders pretty quickly.  I didn't like that each trade left dust in my balance--it didn't look to be possible to spend all my funds in a given trade, and that's annoying.  They have a good selection of coins and were pretty easy to use.

I've used Yobit in the past and never really had a problem with them, but there are a lot of people who have.  I don't think they're a scam but they're super shady.  But they're also easy to use and they have tons and tons of altcoins to trade.

Kraken sucks ass.  Their site is not intuitive and they don't have a lot of features or coins to trade.  They can burn in hell for all I care.

Poloniex is good, though I'm not sure what their status is these days.  I've seen a few threads here saying they're not so hot anymore.

Watch out with Coinbase, because they will nuke your account at the drop of a hat if you send coins to gambling or other similar sites.  Don't think they're not watching, because they are--but they're a legit exchange that I've used before and I would recommend them if you just want to buy or sell bitcoin.  Very easy to use.

If you're looking to trade the not so popular cryptos then Binance is a good one and one of the most popular these days. If you're looking to trade the top 5 cryptos you can also use exchanges like Bitstamp, GDAX, and Kraken. Despite the fact some people don't like kraken because the UI is not intuitive, I am satisfied with, the site is simple it has a good trading volume, and most important to me I am able to transfer out to my bank account without evil ID verification.

Well, main difference is obviously that they are owned by different people. And the trustworthiness of these different people and teams are obviously way different, so picking the right exchange is extremely important.

Coinbase is good for buying your first coins, if you have a credit card and you're able to ID verify yourself. But other than that, there is really no use for coinbase.

Don't bother using Huobi.pro. I haven't seen very positive reviews about it, and it's just not one of the major exchanges. Binance is definitely the best out there right now, and you're able to actually trade without any verification and withdraw up to 2 btc per day. However, there are no fiat pairs. So depends on what your exact needs are, really.

Oh they just decided to fuck with people's minds by making verification compulsory for legacy accounts.
@OP,binance is now the go-to exchange. I don't see them bringing regulative stuff in the game soon because they moved to Malta but I may be wrong. I liked shapeshift, haven't used it in a while now.

After the decisions of the last regulation, It became disgusting.

The choice of exchange platform depends on your country and legal status, but there are a lot of good recommendations regarding https://www.binance.com. This does not mean you will be satisfied with it, but it is the best choice

He is. I'm surprised you haven't been nailed yet if you've had direct transactions to and from gambling sites. It's nothing to do with Coinbase. It's everything to do with them desperate to keep the lawmakers sweet.

https://www.coinbase.com/legal/user_agreement?locale=en

"You may not use your Coinbase Account to engage in the following categories of activity ("Prohibited Uses"). The specific types of use listed below are representative, but not exhaustive. If you are uncertain as to whether or not your use of Coinbase Services involves a Prohibited Use, or have questions about how these requirements apply to you, please submit a request at https://support.coinbase.com. By opening a Coinbase Account, you confirm that you will not use your Account to do any of the following:

Gambling: Lotteries; bidding fee auctions; sports forecasting or odds making; fantasy sports leagues with cash prizes; internet gaming; contests; sweepstakes; games of chance"

Better knock that on the head if you value your account.

Darn it. Guess I have to start reading those huge boring longass user agreements. Eugh. Always skip that shit. I don't use it much nowadays but I'll have to move my funds from there soon enough. Thanks for quoting that part regarding the "Prohibited Uses" part, was in no mood to read that now.

This also. Wow. So now the only exchange left for me to use is binance. Thanks GDPR. Fucking hell. Will we ever get a good exchange to use? Ever? I am not that big a fan of binance. Undecided

But could you explain in what terms they became disgusting? I checked their terms and conditions and the last update was April  9.

For buying bitcoin and doing trade in bitcoin I am using bitstamp exchange which has a high trade volume and the traders are on a large number on that exchange while for doing trade in altcoins I am using binance. Binance also have a bigger community of traders and when the community of traders are bigger and the trade volume is bigger then the trade become more convenient on that exchange. I will suggest for both of them according to your requirement.
