Its back.....woooooot wooooooot!
With less than half the hashrate for all of my miners than before? Is that a function of difficulty in this case?

yes, its solutions count per sec on current diff

32-cores AWS instances are struggling to find shares at current diff!
The silver lining, though, is I'm not getting any more rejects at this diff.

can we mine this with Gpu or not?
Not yet, but the difficulty is around 1050 bits and the higher it climbs, the better it will be for a GPU miner when properly implemented. However, the performance of a high-end Nvidia GPU (GTX 780 Ti) will be about the same as that of a high-end quad socket Intel server (Intel Xeon E5-2697 v2 ).  A well implemented GPU miner for Riecoin will not be as disruptive to the difficulty as it did to Maxcoin for-instance.

LINUX manual -COMPILE the WALLETd in the CLOUD

now also with details for riecoin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=460178.msg5147158#msg5147158

* Ubuntu 12 or Debian 7
* your wallet in the cloud, 24/7 on
* just buy yourself a 5$/month VPS droplet:
* digitalocean http://tiny.cc/digocean NL USA Singapur
* you can also run other tools like block explorer, CPU-miner etc.
* to learn for future coinstarts:
already have a wallet when windows user don't have a wallet yet
* for getting into the linux world
* for looking up a detail when you got stuck while building your wallet

I guess the community around this coin is full of Linuxfreaks, so you yourself do not need this, of course. But others might find it useful. Any hint to improve the manual is highly appreciated.

the diff will sky-rocket due to start of pools... it should be 5x as big as it currently is to catch up with blocks generation rate of 2,5 minutes

Your wallet is still downloading/connecting. Try adding more nodes which are mentioned in this thread. As soon as your wallet is connected, the miner will pick up its work.

Guys, I've set up a DigitalOcean server with 8 CPU cores, and that's what I'm getting:

https://i.imgur.com/OlIG8bI.png

These three shares where for quite a while without changing. Am I correct understanding that I'm not getting nothing for this miner if shares count isn't growing? Or I'm still getting some share from the pool?

Cheers

The shares are the counts from ypool. After 20 found blocks on ypool, you effectively get nothing more.

Christ you people with many mining cores.
I think I'll jump back to other CPU minable coins at the next diff jump.

Hmm, I'm at 32 coins now with just 64 cores since ypool launch. My own server, though - not AWS, so maybe there's something to that outside of just dumb luck?
