with slight adjustments, this could be extended to another group of people in an entirely different situation.
The blockchain itself serves to function as an immutable record over time. The AID:Tech platform will add greatly to this and facilitate legal certification of individuals. I am not entirely sure what you mean by which sector can you receive digital rights, but there is a range of digital rights/entitlements that will be delivered via blockchain.

Yes and no, it is not to 'protect' the assets per se. However, it will allow complete transparency and traceability to these entitlements so in a way that is correct. Aid:Tech aims to empower and embrace the undocumented and underserved around the world through the creation of a global identity platform to allow for digital inclusion and economic prosperity. Through Digital Identification and utilising Blockchain technology, Aid:Tech tokenizes the user’s identity and the entitlements they can unlock with the platforms native token (TaaST (Transparency as a Service Token)) in order to finally bring transparency, efficiency and traceability in the fight against a range of humanitarian and global issues. Aid:Tech also aims to put the power back in the user’s hand to allow sovereignty over your data so you, the user, can finally take control and monetize your own data!

We anticipate that it will be possible to port the token from one standard to another,
depending on the solution that is most advantageous at the time. Currently this is the
ERC-20 standard, given that it enables easy distribution of the token on the well-trusted
Ethereum platform. Transaction fees payable for leveraging decentralised trust (via
public blockchains) are a key area of focus and solutions like Bitcoin’s ‘Lightning’,
Ethereum’s ‘Plasma’, and sharding are concepts that we are closely monitoring to
decrease the cost of transactions and enable scalable micropayments.

Whatever the outcome, we are committed to maintaining the integrity of the tokens and
to adhere to best practice standards both now and in the future. Vitally, important
technical decisions related to the tokens will be put forward to TaaST holders, who will
have a say in development via voting.

Remittances are just one of the issues that Aid:Tech is attempting to tackle inefficiencies and transparency in. Remittances are an essential crutch to developing countries, allowing family members, who can work, to travel to other countries and earn a wage, sending that to their family at home to help with essential needs whether that be food, healthcare etc.

In 2017, the average fee for a global remittance was 7.45%, however, if we compare this to the fee rate of a remittance from S.Africa, in Q1 2018, the cost was on average 17%, that is an incredible 135% higher than the average global remittance fee from last year. So, despite the fact that these are generally the people that need it the most, they end up paying the highest fees.

Aid:Tech has developed a remittance solution allowing a remitter to send digital assets and determine exactly where and how that remittance is spent, for example it will be possible to send digital representation of a household utility to another user, it will be possible to only use this digital asset for what it is intended. Through integration with Stripe and their API, it also enables the use of credit and debit card payments, reducing non-cash-based remittance costs.0

Aid:Tech are building a transparency engine protocol and at the core of the platform will be digital Identity, AID:Tech aims to equip clients and partners including governments, institutional funders and international NGOs, with the tools to provide digital legal identity, Legal Identity is demonstrated in certification of physical documents such as passport, drivers licence, birth certificates, Right to Work etc. While, these are often taken for granted in the developed world due to the ease of access and acquisition, this is only a case for 19/198 economies for provision of a unique ID at birth and continued use. This has resulted in 2.4 billion people without any form of ID, a majority of which are women and children in developing countries and resulting in a range of economic and humanitarian issues. •   Financial Services: Approximately 2 billion people have no access
•   Human Rights: No recognition as a citizen of any state
•   Civil Rights: No right to ownership over assets or property
•   Social Safety Net: No access to pensions, healthcare; or disability support

•   Disaster Situations: Victims of natural disaster, conflict and displacement can have difficulty accessing help when they need it the most.

In line with GDPR requirements, all sensitive data that is personally identifiable is stored off the blockchain; either by Aid:Tech or a partner organisation. What is TaaST?

(TaaST) Transparency as a Service Token is the native token on the Aid:Tech platform and is used to access the services and offer monetization of the users own data. TaaST will utilise the Ethereum blockchain (ERC20) and will have a range of uses on the platform:
•   Transactions: TaaST will be used to access the various services offered and pay the transaction fee.
•   Smart Contracts: TaaST will be used to deploy and maintain Smart Contracts on the blockchain. Smart Contracts are self-executing, meaning they will allow for automation over the distribution of digital assets when a specific set of agreements or terms occur. Think of this as; if ‘x’ occurs, then execute step ‘y’.
Digital Identity: For certification, verification and storage in the 4 users roles on the platform.
•   Aid:Tech API: Aid:Tech intends to launch an app marketplace utilising the revolutionary platform. 3rd Parties will be able to request access to personal information and in return users can earn TaaST a fee.
•   Voting: TaaST will be used to vote for decision-making on the platform. This will utilise smart contracts to ensure verifiability and prevent double voting. Voting will be proportional to your TaaST Holdings.
•   Data Monetisation: TaaST will be utilised for a range of payments on a decentralised data marketplace (SIMon) that will allow users to monetize their own data.

Aid:Tech in partnership with PharmAccess Foundation, undertook a project with the objective of establishing the efficacy of blockchain technology for addressing challenges surrounding the delivery of healthcare and maternal care in Tanzania. The initial pilot involved the provisioning of AID:Tech digital identity, to enable the tracking expectant women and their healthcare experience through their pregnancy journey by providing antenatal and postnatal care.  This has potential global level effects to healthcare.

SDGs, or Sustainable Development Goals, consist of 17 global goals and were introduced by the UN and signed on by 193 countries across the world in 2015, replacing the previous Millennium Goals. These global goals call for an end to a number of global issues; end poverty, protect the planet; and ensure peace and prosperity for all.
 
Aid:Tech’s primary focus is SDG 16.9: Legal Identity for all, including birth registration, by 2030. Aid:Tech wants to achieve this by issuing Digital Identity. Through Digital Identification it gives us a much more reliable picture of the undocumented and will allow us to address, and help achieve, a range of other SDGs and address a number of global issues.

The Aid:Tech team is committed to helping us achieve each and every one of the SDGs,  and have set aside 1.7% of the total supply of TaaST (17,000,000) to create a social impact fund, donating .1% to each of the 17 SDGs. The community will vote on which projects have the greatest potential and thereby receive funding.

Aid:Tech utilise Hyperledger stack (Fabric, Composer) in the current platform. This has the advantage of being highly modular, allowing custom consensus algorithms that are both economical (i.e. do not involve expensive proof-of-work) yet allow for crash fault tolerance and Byzantine fault tolerance (BFT), which can handle thousands of transactions per second.

If this project does what I think It does, then I think its  most needed in Africa, where Politicians understand nothing other than corruption and theft!  While the other governments in the world are against crypto, Africa needs a tool like crypto to reduce corruption from wicked politicians who are bleeding her dry! I hope the transparency protocol can be one in a bunch of solutions we seek to use to liberate the voiceless.
