Maintenance Alert

Dear ArQmA Community,

The Situation

We have been made aware of a bug causing double payments to the Altex exchange. We have since located and fixed the bug in our software.

The bug tracking ID is located here: https://github.com/moneroexamples/openmonero/issues/84 and the patch here: https://github.com/monero-project/monero/pull/3985

Currently, the web wallet is down for maintenance, and the CLI wallet is unable to sync the blockchain. Despite that, be assured your coins are stored safely in the blockchain. Deposits and Withdrawals from Altex are currently disabled until the fix is applied and testing has taken place.

The Solution

We will be executing a hard fork at block 7000 (to occur some time on July 3rd) to apply the fix, for this bug, and other issues mentioned below:

    Fix diff calculation change to wait for the fork block
    Transactions from the web wallet could have a duplicated public key, which caused the Monero wallet to double-count ins and outs.
    Fixed by applying upstream patch (Monero PR # 3985).
    DNSSEC applied

What You Need To Do

Miners: You may continue mining to both private wallet addresses and Altex, however deposits and withdrawals from Altex are disabled until the fork is completed and testing has taken place to ensure transactions are working properly again. Monitor your rigs tomorrow to ensure they reconnect after the hard fork is executed and your chosen pool has updated.

I would like to add from my side that exchage https://altex.exchange IS NOT IN FAULT with that issue. Last night our Team took ones again webwallet sources onto workshop and we did find issue with double generated out keys to one transaction. Issue was fixed straight away and webwallet is fully functioning and transfers made reaching reciepients addresses without any kind of problems. We also did test situation when somebody can mix payment_ID and again NO ISSUES.

So please, do not spread FUD, ANGER and any such to altex.exchange either to us. Both parties involved to that situation have been surprised. We were doing as much we could to do not let it go worst that it was and I did ask you to do not do nothing and do not take any advantages from because we knew that those coins will come back where them came from. Altex did close wallet on our ask to prevent both sides before furher problems.

We want to let the community know there was a small issue with the recent version of Devils Touch 0.1.2.3 with sending transactions.
Our dev team has been hard at work and have since then fixed the issue and all transactions should now process as normal.
You will however have to update to 0.1.2.4 in order send or recieve transactions

I am having issues. I had this working for about a week and yesterday it stopped working. I haven't changed any settings it just won't work anymore. I keep getting the msg that say to lower the (-h) value I had been running it set to 50 in the first place. The cards are stock AMD R290s, no overclocking or anything like that. edit: I made some changes like running in ssl on port 9000 and get the same issue no matter what I change the (-h) value to.
