As Trofo predicted, I lost all my winnings on that one dumb Liverpool game -- 3 games without a win, 3 games that ruin my accas everywhere, don't ever recall seeing VVD so poor. Milner was screaming at him and he was just looking down, probably knew he was bad.

Nobody is talking about Trent on that goal, he had the opportunity to cover that space, I've watched that clip over and over, and I'd say both players were at fault on that goal, Milner was the only one trying to cover Sancho from shooting and he got rolled on the flood.

Well, I'm not performing as I'd like in the leaderboards. I'm blaming that on the odd start of the season we've had. I'm also annoyed at Liverpool, not that they've cost me points in the pool, but the fact that they just don't seem to be motivated at all at the moment. I know we have our injuries, but to lose against United in the manner that we did, absolutely abysmal.

It's either going to be a very long season or a very long wait until we get through this bad patch, obviously the injuries are playing a role, but there's no excuse why we saw quite a few of our players being lazy on the pitch. VVD was one of the worst on the field for it on Monday.

That was a surprise loss for LFC, and more surprising of a win for UTD.  I find myself rooting for both teams most of the time (unless they're matched against Arsenal, or course,) and when they're playing each other I just want to see a good match.  I considered putting money on the match, but decided against it because I couldn't decide.  After such an abysmal record for the weekend's predictions, I began to question everything I knew about football.

Anyway, to all my friends who are fans of ManU, congratulations on the win.  It was well fought for.  I guess beating LFC will give the fans cause to forgive Ten Hag for the first two weeks of the season.  Better to just forget them, lol.

To switch gears a bit, the drama between Chelsea and Tottenham has really intrigued me for some reason.  It looks like both managers received red cards for their shenanigans when they faced each other in week two.  Now Tuchel has been charged by the FA for "improper conduct," lol.

Tuchel had already received a suspended touchline ban and £35,000 ($41,132) fine following his confrontation with Spurs boss Antonio Conte.

I did pretty well in the first game week but, it's been down the hill in the last two game weeks as well.

There are quite a number of things that I believe are affecting Liverpool's performance and the injuries is playing its part I'd agree, but the midfield is the first problem I believe is not very functional and Arnold needs a lot of assistance because he also often drops into the midfield position as usual which is why he's being less effective on the flank, and he's position in the defense is being targeted. Van Dijk is also not the best players in 1v1 situation and he's not the best at covering up for his partners in the CB position either so he's need another defender that could take up the those duties while he sticks to his area duels and physical matchups. Salah also needs a Mane-esque partner that will help get the 85-90% attention focused personally on him and forget about injuries woes, Liverpool really does needs a fresh pair of legs, if not two more in the midfield Milner and Elliot aren't going to cut it as their back up plan for an entire season, and let's assume Naby Keita and Thiago get back from their injuries, you can rely solely on these guys for a 50+ games stretch of the whole season including all other competitions.

After such unexpected results, confidence about future games simply disappears. Even in the game Liverpool - Bournemouth it will be scary to bet on Liverpool, especially if the odds are meager. Although the Devil whispers in my ear, "it's a sure bet, they can't stumble 4 times in a row."

I'm fully expecting the bournemouth game to be a release for Liverpool, they'll end it like 4-0 or 5-1 at least 

Now bookmakers are quoting Liverpool's chances of winning against Bournemouth as 1.11 (if you take a handicap of -2.5, then the odds are 1.87) - in my opinion, an extremely dubious game in order to place bets. I don't think that this losing streak will suddenly stop and everything will be like in a fairy tale "as before", Liverpool have systemic problems and it will be good if they win 2-1, 2-0, 3-1 or something like that.

Guess that's because Trent did redeem himself on attack. I know people keep talking about TAA's defensive lapses but I'm in the camp that accepts those shortcomings in return for much more positives on the attack. This is why I don't talk about him being bad in defence. Players target him a lot too, as was evident.

Yeah, we played well enough in the first two games, we had shitty starts but at least improved, and we almost did enough for another draw at United but there's something in the languid form of VVD (he's always appeared that way but his focus seems totally out the last 3 games). Lazy, as you said, something's just off, can't explain it.

And the problem for me, is we showed what we were capable of during the Community Shield match. We scraped through 2 seasons ago on injury problems hope we don't get another season like that.

If I were to describe VVD it would be nonchalant, but I do think something isn't quite right at the moment. I'm hoping either Matip or Konate are back sooner rather than later, I haven't really been keeping up with the preseason injuries so aren't sure the extent of them, but obviously we're missing something in the midfield, as well as the defense.

I just hope we sort it out quickly, before the hope of competing for the title disappears.

I just felt like both teams were under pressure but united even more so and at home with nunez gone for liverpool and van dijk not looking his best I could not justify a bet on liverpool @ 1.4 or whatever the odds were. Like I said before, too, if I see united @4+ odds I will always bet on them because the players are there regardless of recent form which means theoretically they can win (or lose) any game they play.

I still think Liverpool will bounce back strong against bournemouth this weekend though

That's dangerous but not impossible tips I'm not sure they'll let go of the fire in their eyes against poor Soton, but the team appears to want to fight for the badge. I haven't seen that from them in a long time, though Manchester United tends to perform better against the top six teams when they meet. In this game, I can't pick a 1x2 winner.

I'm pretty sure Fernandes ran more in that game than he did in the last season altogether. Can't just disregard their win completely and chalk it down to liverpool playing bad, the individuals were there when it mattered

There was one other who had them to win, but had them 4-1 so I did infact have more trust in them then the rest.
But I can see Liverpool bouncing back because Klopp has all week to have a go at all of them in the locker room now. And with all the talk about Firmino not extending his contract and becoming free agent by the end of this season doesn't help morale much after this woeful loss.
I am sticking with the Saints this weekend with another solid win by the Sportsbet.io branded side!

Yeah, I'm not saying it wasn't a deserved performance, I'm just naturally disappointed about the state we are in right now. Honestly, Man United showed some passion, and that's the best I've seen them play in a over a year. It just had to be against us.

Liverpool have some teething problems to sort out, but I'm not overly worried. I'm worried that this might be the resurgence Man United were looking for, which of course being a Liverpool fan is something I don't want to see.

I'm going with Southampton if that's worth anything, seems like a typical United thing to do.

Fernandez did some dirty work falling deep to help McTom, but I'm not sure he was any better than his recent form. He lost possession twice, which could have resulted in a goal, and he almost spammed the ball into his own post.  I'm not discrediting the team; they earned the win for adhering to the game plan; however, after one strong performance, I'm not letting it get to my head.

Fernandez did some dirty work falling deep to help McTom, but I'm not sure he was any better than his recent form. He lost possession twice, which could have resulted in a goal, and he almost spammed the ball into his own post.  I'm not discrediting the team; they earned the win for adhering to the game plan; however, after one strong performance, I'm not letting it get to my head.

But Southampton only had one good win against Leicester, draw before that and getting crushed before that so why do you show such confidence in them and letting that go to your head?

Manchester United showed a very good performance with their game also against Liverpool. However as they will need to have more ball possession against Southampton, I think that we will watch a different game. In case we think that Southampton have a set piece master like James Ward-Prowse, I think that it is more sensible to bet on both teams to score rather than betting on a side for this match.
