Recently I made an offer in Paxful.com. Selling $20.00 worth of Starbucks Gift Cards for 0.00188112 BTC or $12.01 in USD. I made a sale and the customer released the funds as you can see here: http://prntscr.com/jvnnjt

So I head over to my Paxful wallet, but upon checking...the final balance in my wallet is only 0.00108112 BTC or  $6.96 in USD: http://prntscr.com/jvnu1b and at this point I'm already scratching my head.

The confusion continues as when I decided to just withdraw what's left of the funds from my Paxful wallet to my main wallet is I only received the final balance of $3.74: http://prntscr.com/jvnua3

Now, I don't know what happened there and why I lost almost $8.27?

I've contacted support and they said it's because of the fees or miner fees: http://prntscr.com/jvnrsa I'm like what? The fees in sending Bitcoin is not that high right now? I mean even with miner fees, I was expecting at least $10-$11 in return instead of just $3.74.
Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Yeah it is because of fees.Bitcoin transaction fees is normally 0.001 btc which is almost 6.5$ then you received rest of the amount on your account. Then again you have given fees for withdrawal from paxful which was almost 0.0005 btc.

Here's a similar case: Paxful scamming with fake fees
  • And if you check your transaction link (last one), the miner fee that they used is "0.00007224BTC = 0.47 USD" (that's a group transaction, not just yours) but their staff (Zack) told you that the fee is 0.0005BTC and on their FAQ page says "0.0008BTC".
  • Their fee structure is outdated (clearly).
  • They should be transparent (they're not, so I don't trust them).

Others might have a different opinion but I have a feeling that they're using this to their advantage.
