@ADMINS/MODS: New idea for bounty campaigns, making sure it's approved practice.

Are there any rules in place forbidding the practice of a thread starter to declare just once in the thread's OP (and nowhere else in the thread) the likes, if not verbatim of the following?:

This thread is sponsored by <insert linked-to name of entity here>.

All other known rules regarding creation of threads would of course to be abide by.

As the title of this thread suggests, the practice if sanctioned would become a new bounty campaign.

Confusing. Can you explain again what is it you're asking or suggesting.

I think what YuTü.Co.in is trying to say is to make a new category in campaigns we can call it ( Sponsored threads campaign ) in which users can open new threads sponsored by for example project x, project x will have rules and terms, something like what articles and blogging campaigns have . This will help improve the quality of threads in bitcointalk, of course we might get some bad quality threads at first but then it will adjust due to its nature because this campaign will be moderated by everyone in bitcointalk, anyone can report bad quality thread, and DT members can easily tag bad posters and so on .... ,  even if the campaign manager of this particular campaign think the thread is good, he will not be able to do anything vs deleted, locked and tagged threads .   

I do not know if I got it right, but that is my understandings  .

However, if you are using the forum as a publishing platform to host something really substantial and useful, selling ads in that substantial work is allowed. To be eligible for this, your post must be in a topic that you started, and your post must be substantial and long enough to make the ad seem entirely insignificant. If in doubt, ask me.

I don't think a bounty would qualify as "something really substantial and useful" but you should probably ask the Benevolent Dictator to clarify.

Thanks, bud. Reads to me like the key phrase is "typically not allowed", thus not forbidden. The gist is that the OP MUST have substance of sorts so to encourage discussion.

Re utilizing such as a bounty campaign, I envision the starter of the thread being rewarded per some metrics incorporating page, post and view counts.

Further thinking out loud, the clause placed at the top of the OP won't be added till after 20 posts/2 pages is obtained. The clause could be --> This thread now sponsored by <linked-to entity name here>.

I had suggested something some time ago. A section for long reads. This idea of sponsorship could help such a section become popular. Since people would have an economic incentive.

It would work like the Press section. It would be a place with extreme moderation, that would not tolerate bots, farm accounts etc. When I suggested, they said that the Serious discussion section already has this purpose, but I disagree. The idea would be to provide a place for people to post unique texts instead of posting them to Medium or Steem. It could be statistical research, like some that are being posted in Meta. Stories about Bitcoin, analysis of protocols, new academic papers, etc.

I think something like this would raise the level of the discussion here.
