I think their ico can be more profitable than many ICos in the market but as it is not attractful it will probably not raise any money, scam ICOs are better for most people...

There's no need to launch an ICO just to strengthen their village by gaining funds from it. Japan is a crypto loving country and it has shown on how it is very well helpful to the economy.
AFAIK they have already monacoin for their altcoin and bitcoin as main cryptocurrency. What if all small villages in Japan do the same thing? they will just add to crowded initial coin offerings that will only generate worthless tokens. Most of them will still rely to bitcoin after ICO for sure.

Reading the title seems unbelievable at first,, but knowing that this small village is located in Japan then my doubts turns into admiration.. ICO might not be my favorite crypto ever since,, but to make it used for this cause is amazingly interesting..

I do adore such move and camaraderie on each person living and part of this effort to make a change and to have a better economical status of their village and for each villagers financial stability.. A possibility that only japan can do,, as of now..

I have heard about their prefecture or watched it in a show that's educating viewers on how that village is a well place and cultural village (though Japan is giving importance to their culture). Now they will launch their own token that also aims to be used globally. As happy as I was with the initiative being taken by the village in harnessing the potentials that ICO and crypto currency can offer in general, its was short lived by the article which was not detailed enough for anyone who is out to get succinct information for decision making rather than being referred to another site to know the basic details on what the project is all about. Raising ICO is really not the problem as it can be regarded as crowd funding but what matters is what the fund is to be used for and the return that is expected by those who believe in the project.

The article didn't state specifically what how the amount generated will be applied neither did it make mention of the expected returns. For me I would be a little bit skeptical because for a village with 1500 villagers whose primary source of livelihood is forestry, I won't be surprised if white collar consultants from the big cities are the ones behind the ICO using the community as a cover up to have a working project.

Dont expect for bitcoin to interfere with this kind of scenarios because it wont really be considered or to be part on what they are planning to.
The thing i do like is their motive on making such ICO, their target to enhance economy wont really be bad but the thing hesitates me anytime is who would be the one to handle such thing? Government? It would be still pointless if thats the case.

They are intelligent people they know how to take their village economically stronger and they know all the benefits of cryptocurrencies. That is why they are taking the help of cryptocurrencies and they are starting their initial coin offering to collect the funds for the development of their village and to give the start to crptocurrency in their village.

I think it will prosper because Japanese people and the government is  in full support of cryptocurrency, while if this village introduced ICO in their own, the people will support, during selling period, and the community project will prosper by means of crowd financing even internationally.
