ethereum is a shitcoin indeed. but it wasn't free, it is the original chain. ETH was free since it is the fork coin

as for the sell the news i completely agree. whenever there is a news like this which comes out a while before the rise and the hype starts and ends before the actual date which is tomorrow according to OP. although the altcoin market is completely random and unpredictable but that is what happens most of the times.

ETH Classic is sort of the losing side in the battle with ETH. Or, you can say that ETH Classic was the moral winner, sticking with the immutability of the Ethereum blockchain.

ETH, on the other hand, hard forked to deal with the DAO hack in an easy way. They attracted the majority of users and became a defacto winner in this battle. Had they not done so, probably we wouldn't have had these countless Dapps running on Etherium. But in doing so, they compromised the most important principle of immutability of the blockchain.

You can argue that both of them are shitcoins. I don't hold and wouldn't invest in any of them, but if I had to choose, my preference goes to ETH classic.

it's a good project, it's great to invest there, but for the current market it's not good, it's better to launch it when the market improves.

The only move for Ethereum Classic holders to hope for is for Coinbase and Barry Silbert to pump this coin. But I don't believe that it will also be enough to let it settle on its "former highs". The bears are plainly too strong this year.

no coin can reach its "former highs" this soon because they are still recovering from that bubble they set and unless they are dumped properly down to their real bottoms you can not expect any meaningless rises from any of them.
in case of ETC, it seems like they have pumped it in the past 24 hours but it was a small pump of 15% but at the same time since it was small it is hard to say if this pump was really because of this news or was it just the recovery from the 2 days ago's dump.
looking at the charts it went from $20 down to $10 and now it is up to $14.... so i don't think it can be that relevant to this news!

Eth is shit coin, I would only invest in btc. For positions, buy the rumor sell the news. Never changes...
