Just about finished prototyping my Open Source Software release, based on Linux Mint 17, titled 'Quetzalcoatl'. Comes out before the end of the year!

Any suggestions about changing the icon for the Mintcoin-Qt executable?

can anyone explain why when dowloading the block chain in the latest mint coin client, the amount of progress jumps about one day it's 30% and then the next its 21% also the amount of blocks change one day its 567948 then next it 1737264.  it all over the place ?

(the blocks there are just examples not the actual block)

I think its because of where checkpoints are put by devs in the blockchain, but i am not sure. The client sees till closest checkpoint i guess & when it is synced to that point it searches for next checkpoint & so on.

Once you have it synced, it is fairly easy to maintain. I personally, just make sure to let it run overnight at least once per month and that is basically all you need to do to maintain it. Especially if younthink you will need access to some coin in a few days, it is a good idea to do. MINT does about 87,000 blocks per month, so it is a lot to sync, but I just think of it as the tradeoff for a fast coin. There is literally almost no wait with transactions, and it is awesome! After using MINT for a while, you'll get used to the speed for transactions. Then try having to use BTC again and other coins to send to an exchange or something and it taking more than 5 minutes or more, using BTC especially will start to make you angry. Speed for MINT is great if you want to capitalize on an arbitrage opportunity or something.  No waiting. Bam, its there. Love it!!!

Sick of mining?  Start minting!  5% per year!  Mintcoin "MINT"

There is also a special mention merchant list on Reddit.

All of these sites at one time or another, have said they would accept MINT as payment option.

Also, you can use shapeshift to basically instant transfer to any specific coin address.

Does anyone know of an order book site like this http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/MINT/markets.php
that covers the LTC market? I would like a visually graphic chart like this for the MINT/LTC market.
Also, is there a way to see the aggregate order-books of all MINT currency pairs, as if valued in USD?

I think wallet was fetching all those links from a website & that account is suspended. It should not interfere with working of wallet so you should be fine. Although this is not good for image of the coin & wallet security. I thought those links & images were in wallet code. I hope that is removed in next wallet update.
