To make an analogy PoW vs PoS as sort of like comparing the muscle cars of the 60s and 70s as compared to the energy saving hybrid and electric models of today.

The private transportation infrastructure will never go back to the days of Detroit Steel. Too fuel inefficient, too much pollution, too much pay to manufacture in the US.

Those cars are awesome, but we've moved on to something better and the private transportation infrastructure that is being developed now for the future is going to be very different than the heyday of the gas powered combustion engine and the American automobile culture. We are never going back to where we came from, that's gone now except for a few artifacts, so don't look back, look forward.

The same effect of technical development will apply to all networks, including financial.

Anyone else had issues with http://mint.hashrapid.com/ ?
They changed servers, kept previously mined coins on the old server (apparently), wouldn't send a password reset email when my password didn't work, locked me out of my account after my password was apparently incorrect, and don't reply to support requests. Looking very much like they're trying to pull a fast one.

DO NOT MINE ON ANY HASH RAPIDS POOL. THEY WILL FUCK YOU OVER AND THEY NEVER REPLY TO SUPPORT EMAILS. THEY USED THE WALLET UPGRADE EXCUSE AND ENDED UP WITH OVER 9K OF MY MINT AS WELL AS OTHERS MINT.

And yes I checked the other ip they listed to only see 1k of my already confirmed 10K Mint when they where having issues.

+1 the same here, hashrapid = scampool

On the main site, whoever is in charge, can you host the wallet download links.

I've always found it somewhat sketchy when going to a new coin and downloading the wallet from mediafire or something like that.

Does anyone know if I can add an .dat file to an existing wallet? I have some mint on a flash drive that I need to get into my wallet somehow without disturbing the coins already there, but I only have one computer.

I see some PoS blocks generated now, the mintcoin launched 20 days ago, some coins started generating PoS blocks...
http://mintcoin-explorer.info/chain/MintCoin

those blocks with diff = 0.0 are PoS blocks.

For example block 56699 is a PoS block, where 171.473424 coins generated as interest:

CrowdFUNDING - Crypto Stock Market - Trust = Innovation = World financial Market =  I am going to buy one of these with my MINT HOARD: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jn1jMAUJ1g

Look for CrowdFunding sites to hook up with Cryptos
That is another great resource for implementation.

Go Mint!

Look at all those pow blocks! This cut PoW supply to half. On Friday morning block reward will half aswell. That means at least 4 times less MINT from mining PoW.

Do not replace the existing wallet.dat file if the existing wallet has Mint coins. You will need to use another computer and a fresh wallet for that wallet.dat file.

Since you only have one computer you could send all the mint from the existing wallet to an exchange and then replace the wallet.dat file with the one from the flash drive. Then send the coins from the exchange to the wallet, but I think that will reset the PoS for you?

How many mint are on the flash drive wallet.dat file?

HoboNickels has a way to integrate another wallet within the wallet.

Why won't my mint mint mint? I minted some mint a couple hours ago but it was not accepted. Generated but not accepted 0 of 4 confirmations. What should I try to do? Sorry my first PoS coin pretty much. I had some HOBO stake last week for the first time but no issue there.

Does anyone know if I use TRIXX to change settings e,.g GPU clock while sgminer or cgminer is running would i see the effects? or do I need to restart the miner to see if there is any changes to my hash rates etc

Also if I've got my cards at 673/693/692 kh/s and sgminer says total kh/s is 2.050 mh/s with a WU of 2000 it fluctuates but each time i work it out i'm getting aroudn 90% khs/WU but interestingly after 26096 accepted shares i've still no rejects.. should i mess with it.. i've never seen the miner with no rejected shares before... is that not good?

And these types of things are what Gov's/Banks will use to implement Crypto-Regs - thus destroying the crypto-market , if they can (for everyone but themselves). Unfortunately they have been dumbing down, and removing all sense of personal responsibility from the sheeple for decades now. To the extent where average people think someone else needs to take care of things for them. I know people in here are generally more informed than your average John Q./Suzie Q. Public, but, for anyone just getting into this, please be insanely cautious with whom you deal. This is one of the last unregulated markets there is. We do not want this to go away. If you get screwed - you are screwed. Know that now, and take precautions. This is freedom. With freedom comes responsibility. It's on you. Be careful, and stay free.

Don't know why I felt the need to post this, but I really did feel the need, so I went with it.

</lecture>

Peace!

This is a good point, although now I'm going to make a point about what it's like to operate a pool.

Operating a pool is hard, not easy, and if it was everyone would do it.     The software that many pool operators use is open source and everyday many commits are made because there always new bugs/issues found.   The process of allocating shares for hash rates, the many different processes that have to be running, it's hardly a simple task to maintain.   Not only this, but many new coins that are laucnhed have inherit issues in the wallet themselves.  So this causes corrupt block index files and wreaks havoc on the system.

It's easy to just point your miner.

Not only does a pool owner have to maintain this complex system, but then you have to deal with constant DDOS attacks and other security issues.

I wasn't intending to attack anyone personally. Perhaps I should have posted this on it's own, instead of "pinning" it to a specific post.

It was only meant as a general piece of advice. No offense was intended.

That said - I do understand that there is a lot that goes into operating a pool. I don't envy anyone who takes on a busy one. I'll just mine and trade!  Grin

So he did this "upgrade" scam twice now on the MINT pool ?  I lost coins too during the first week.  I can understand if it was a mistake, but he's purposely doing this to steal miner's coins.  Happened on his COINO pool too.
