Nice to see all of the sell walls on this coin get absolutely obliterated.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

What is going on?

Someone who may be new to cryptos has just bought a lot of Mintcoin and it's pushed the price back up to around 6 or 7 Satoshi at the moment. It's a good move because regardless of the price Mintcoin is one the best Proof of Stake coins, if not the best POS coin, giving interest to holders. I'm not about to rush my coins to market though because I think I started buying around 14 SAT and bought down to 7 SAT, and I believe it belongs much higher than that. The good news is this doesn't seem like a short term speculator has moved in, on cryptsy the buy support is there to stop it from dropping, someone is happy to gobble up 60 BTC worth of Mint if you want to throw it away at just 1 Satoshi  Cool

My wallet just minted, which is cool, however I only sent coins to this wallet 10 days ago - it's never done that before, always been around 20 I think.. surely that isn't right?

The cyan rainbow faucet is one of those fake virus scan sites and the other faucet sends you to some spammy gaming site.  Both of these should be removed immediately.  It would make more sense to have an official faucet that doesn't spam people or try to install malware.  Also the specs don't mention anything about the total number of coins.  Pretty poor for a coin that's a year old.

It is probably re-minting the older coins in your wallet.

Are you referencing Page 1 of this thread?  Maybe Jessica can update it. I never had a problem with this faucet http://multifaucet.tk/index.php?faucet=MINT

Can anyone else verify / confirm if a faucet link should be taken down?

Yes the first faucet sends you to a fake virus scan site when you click to get your coins, the one that you mention sends you off to some unrelated gaming site when you do the same.  Probably best to test them yourself.

Cyanrainbow works well for me, but I do have Adguard installed so it doesn't redirect to any other sites.

AFAIK most rewarding MINT faucet is... http://www.thecoinmine.com/forums/register.php?affid=862975

Thanks am not really that interested in faucets as such but was just checking out if they actually worked.  It just plain looks bad if the official thread links to malware/spam that opens browser windows without permission add that to the lack of clear information about coin supply and it's likely to put new people off investing or buying Mint.

What information would you like added to the OP, sure that could be a simple addition & added upon request. I started volunteering for the OP on MINT when they were doing the Keepod charity & am willing to help with any further ways to improve it.

I wonder if there's a way to create a BBcode file on github, then any changes are open for the community?

Edit: Done, great idea & will have to start doing that as a requirement to show trust on updates.
Even a great way to keep a backup of the ANN, just incase BitCoinTalk or other forums are not working Cool

The OP does not say that there is a coin cap of 70 billion. Right? That's it I think.

Didn't someone state some time ago there is no max number of coins programmed in the wallet?

Once we hit 70 Billion the coin was originally configured to continually mint at 5%.

This has now been completed - thanks @ursay for handling this.

I'm guessing 1.14 will fix most of these issues.  Download from Google Drive...

Thanks but the linux 64 bit wallet is 1.12.0

Hopefully cryptomommy can update the linked builds to current.  Until then I found 1.14 builds from Robo and added them to Mega.  Happy 1 year mintcoin!  Wooooooooo!!!  Smiley

Happy belated birthday, Mintcoin!

You've accomplished what 90% of other cryptocurrencies haven't and that is making it to your first birthday.

Congratulations oldtimer! Wink
