btcpool.exchange is closing.  Remove your coins from the site by May 1st.  New platform coming?  Message from their in site chat:

Hi Everyone , Me and Paul have come to the decision to shut the exchange down in its present form , everytime something is fixed something else seems to break , we really dont want to do this but we feel we have no other option at the moment , we are looking at another more stable platform but we dont want to waste ayones time as it is atm , so can everyone please remove all coins they have by the end of the month , after the 1st of May it will be no longer possible , dont get us wrong we believe we have something to offer to the crypto scene and are not walking away by no means , but we need to concertrate on a new platform , not continually patching this one , we thank you all for your support and hope that when we launch the new platform we see you all then , If you have any problems with the withdrawal of coins , send a ticket thru the support system with all info , username ,coin, wallet address you want the coins sent to , email that was used for registration and so on so we can get your coins to you !!

Another one shutting down? Sheez.  I wonder how many coins have been lost through all these exchanges, it's crazy.

Honestly I'm not sure ANY user's coins were lost between btcpool.exchange, ShapeShift, and CoinWallet.co.  Is crypto growing up?   Cool

Hey devs, how is the progress on the wallet? Its almost 6 months i think since you started the codebase update. It would be cool if you can give us a report every few weeks. We know you are working hard but if we can see what is being done even if its a bit technical then it would give us some indication how things are going & how far are we from the big release. Thanks for all your work Smiley

EDIT: Something like this will inspire some confidence.

Keep in mind that there have been actual working wallet releases since work was started on the 2.1 codebase.  These releases added new features which are fully documented by the devs and push towards the 2.1 release.  You can see an example of this for wallet version 2.0.2 released on 3/2, about a month ago.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=450381.msg14070605#msg14070605

After the 2.0.2 release, an official bootstrap was released on 3/12 and updated on 4/5.  See the history thread...
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1355523.msg13798259#msg13798259

Additionally, you can see the devs work on Git with their individual accounts that merge into the main account.  Fuzzbawls release notes for 2.0.2 gives you specific documentation of code changes with direct individual links on Git for each change.

Would additional updates be cool?  Totally.  Should those additional updates come at the expense of writing actual code?

I'm not suggesting your point is invalid.  I'm just asking you to consider the other side of the coin.  Distracting the devs with requests for updates could be counter productive.  I would personally love to offer more updates in relation to coding the 2.1 wallet but general bug fixes and code modernization isn't always that exciting or easily consumable.  If it was then wouldn't you have your eyes glued to Git like your favorite T.V. show?   Wink

[EDIT]  Actually, a 24/7 reality show about development of a coin WOULD be pretty amazing.  24 hour market with a 24 hour show to match.  Cheesy

Heads up mint community!
You may know about the recent issues at cryptsy but it looks as though Paul is actively liquidating and dumping MINTcoin on poloniex. If you care about this coin, you may want to contact them and ask them to look into it.

The block explorer is out of date on checkpoints and hosting is expiring any minute. How do we get them to update their wallet? Ive donated to this in the past, but I'd like to see them be current with checkpoints before donating more. Maybe if it expires it will get their attention? Any ideas?
