Welcome back to the Mint Club!  Ready to dive in for the long haul? I hope things have turned a corner for you for the better lately.
First off, one thing I would like to request is to obtain full permissions on Reddit (or at least the permissions to create new moderators). Do you still have access to the "mintcoin" account?  I have pretty much been the only active Mod on there, so it would be really helpful if you could log on to Reddit, and give me full permissions. It would be nice to have several mods, because I can usually only check in on it from time to time, but I am committed to do a good job as I am able.

As far as a marketing point of view, one thing I would like to see, which I think would be good, is a solid regularly occurring marketing progress and events activity video. Sort of like what you had going before. But I don't want you to get burned out again, so maybe scale it back a bit less frequently. Like maybe quarterly or triannual or semiannual, (whatever you can handle ).

- There is still work being done on a major wallet/client overhaul to improve performance and give the GUI a facelift.  I am not sure how well this is progressing and coming along though as there is a lot of work.
- The halving for MINT is coming up I believe in December. This will bring MINT to the final 5% annual minting rate, which should be good for the long-run stability and growth.

I'm sure if I am missing anything else, others can fill you in better than I. Looking forward to seeing you around in our community again!

2) I am no longer working 70 hour weeks (yey!) so I will have time again to work on Mintcoin.

Is your wallet fully synced? Sometimes you can hit a periodic wave of orphan, but check that your blockchain is synced up. Its more to do with being synced than the number of connections. btw, how do you have 63 connections? I didn't know you could get that many. Something seems strange if you have that many. You should have more like 12 connections I think.

I thought to myself that adding portforwarding in my router will fix orphan issue, so now I have that many connections and still tons of orphans

How long was your wallet offline?

Please advise, guys: I'm having 80-90%% orphans staking Mintcoin.
Is this ok, or I'm doing something wrong?  
I have the latest wallet and 63 connections.

Is your wallet fully synced? Sometimes you can hit a periodic wave of orphan, but check that your blockchain is synced up. Its more to do with being synced than the number of connections. btw, how do you have 63 connections? I didn't know you could get that many. Something seems strange if you have that many. You should have more like 12 connections I think.

I thought to myself that adding portforwarding in my router will fix orphan issue, so now I have that many connections and still tons of orphans

Hi Coolbeans,
I would like to have a new video out next week if possible. Most likely towards the end of the week.
Still collecting information.

Right now I am in roll call mode, trying to collect login data and current team members / estimated availability / etc..

I would like to put together a proposal for the community outlaying coin upgrades, bug fixes and online marketing initiatives, hosting, domain registration... and discuss the current registration of Mintcoin Fund.

I would also like to propose to the community that we overhaul our website and consider solely focusing on building Mintcoin Fund as a fundraising solution for businesses.
The value proposition is we will customize a wallet solely for that business by integrating into their websites and providing branded versions of the Mintcoin wallet. The Mintcoin Fund will also promote the charity to its communities through give-away's and contests assisting in the promotion of the charity. (We can potentially take the process learned through the Keepod experiment and duplicate assisting the education of crypto-currency while raising funds for a good dead (which also grows the mintcoin community)

As an added bonus - people within the united states (still researching international laws) will be able to claim the donation of assets on their tax returns with verified mintcoin donation addresses as proof.

The idea is non-profits are allowed to pay for services - meaning by law we can pay employees and handle business expenses while maintaining our non-profit status. We can build a community based on the combination of donating to a good cause and crypto technology.

In the past we have run some amazing campaigns; however teams often fizzle out due to lack of funds, etc..

The majority of the bounties in the past have come solely from myself (donations exceeding thousands of dollars). I cannot continue to do this. My objective is to put together a community proposal highlighting the community needs to grow, a strategy plan and a cost to maintain the plan. If the community agrees on the plan we move forward to bringing people into set positions within the plan and distributing mintcoin funds to them as agreed.

In order for this to work we need to finalize a Mintcoin Guardian campaign and create a agreed upon reward system for those who choose to make regular contributions towards the proposal.

We will also need dedicated team members who are willing to accept mintcoin as payment and understand the value of minting

Of course I am always open for discussing details and refining things out and would love everyone's feedback on this.

In regards to the actual financial report - the more information you can provide to me to present the better.

I can do a financial summary. However, it does take me time to perform the analysis.
Is there anything specific you or others want me to address?
There are many different angles I could cover the financials from.

For example:
Do we want, just Overall statistics from inception of Mintcoin?
Or just performance so far this calendar year?
Or performance since the last minting reward reduction?
Do we want analysis done in terms valued in USD or BTC or some other currency?

Or dare I say, all of the above?  


What financials would be the most useful to the community?

When are you wanting it by, or when are you planning to do another community update?

I'll get to work right now on a financial report. I don't know how far I'll get, but I'll just start into it, winging it and see what I come up with.

I can't really do an exact detailed analysis without a synced up and working analytical block explorer. It looks like the Chainz explorer expired, which is fine but we should really try to build one and host it ourselves or pay for its service. I suppose we could contact Chainz, to see about reinstating it, but seemed to me to be a little expensive. ... I noticed there is also this block explorer http://cryptoguru.tk/CurrencyInfo/index.php?Currency=MINT which offers a premium service for .01 BTC per month which at current price would be about $7 per month, which is 30% cheaper than what the Chainz explorer was costing us. I have PMed them to find out more, as the Cryptoguru may be a better option for us going forward than the Chainz explorer.
Does anyone know of a premium explorer service that would be even cheaper?

Financial Report Status:
So far I have created a 1 year Price chart from June 15-2015 to June 15-2016 in terms of $USD. It is based off of coingecko's website. Price has gone up 56.38% Year over year.  I can calculate more stats once we have a premium explorer running again.

theoretically, with paid premium, this figure is expected to increase about ~3-4 times.

At 2 per minute, Mintcoin generates about 2880 blocks per day. Mint is a old currency with a very big block chain. Its full synchronization in any case will take a very long time. Unfortunately I physically can not speed up this process. Its depends on the performance of the server,wallet optimization, count of blocks -> transactions-> operations.

Free<->Premium is switched automatically, automated when script detects a payment (req 1 network confirm) to BTC address. If you want, you can pay the premium for a couple of days to see the results.
