you guys should report the issue on the MintCoinCommunity github (https://github.com/MintcoinCommunity/Mintcoin-Desktop-Wallet/issues). This way you can be sure that the devs will see the issue and hopefully resolve it as quickly as possible.

i will try report and check if them available~

looks like i've accidentally revealed that this project is actually dead lol

It's not dead, the last dev update was Oct 4 although they're not easy to find since they are not in the MintcoinCommunity GitHub but instead in shane-kerr's GitHub. Not sure why he doesn't add that repo to the MintcoinCommunity GitHub for all to see.

The MintCoin-Qt.exe wallet version 2.0.2  from the .zip downloaded today from the page one announcement in this thread:
https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/a6478f41c3ab56e8b3f4847d16a39cf61d2d6657674c70313d7dfcf8ecf01c1a/detection

If the current mods do not have control to modify the page one announcement download links, perhaps we need a new thread.

As previously stated, the version 2.1.0 in this link appears to be clean:
https://github.com/MintcoinCommunity/Mintcoin-Desktop-Wallet/releases/download/v2.1.0/MintCoin-2.1.0-win32.zip

what they give us virus?well my pc never turn on antivirus~

we will look into that. but all sources are compiled on clean vm
running windows with AV myself

only download the wallet from official sourcesWe will check into that but our sources are compiled on clean virtual machines.
please also only use the download links from our official website

No one would bother to hack into a dead Github project.

This is just moving slow, like so many other solid projects out there.

This is gaining a whole new level of strangeness  Huh

First the Github repository was hacked.

Now we are told to upgrade our wallets by a user who's making his first post ever on this forum? A total newbie is taking care of MINT? Since when?

I'll stay with my current version, if you don't mind  Cheesy

You are right, i had to make a new account because i lost my original account about a year ago. If you scroll back you can see my original account Deepcreek pop up allot in the history of MintCoin. Im also a Reddit, Twitter and Telegram moderator.

The current MintCoin team is not really active on Bitcointalk. Main reason is because we do not own the account this thread is started from so we cant keep it up to date. We are looking at ways to solve this.

You can join our official Telegram , Reddit or Twitter to verify that im not just a scammer.

I didn't use any adjectives like scammer. I just mentioned the account is brand new and that is very strange for a user in that position to suggest wallet upgrades, specially after a confirmed hack.

Anyway, people are free to follow your upgrade or to follow my warning.

Might I suggest something else?

It would be a good sign of vitality for this project to have a new, updated thread instead of this one filled with obsolete information.

Do you want to enhance your credibility? Create a new thread, ask the mods to lock this one and we'll take it from there.

What do you think?

this needs a bit of clarification - git was hacked much earlier than 2018-10-28,
afaics on 28 there was just next trojan version "update".

I'm still running the 2.0.1 version released on Set 1st. I downloaded it the next day and it appears to be clean and stable.

No, MINT is still old school PoS and not PoS v3 with masternodes like many other projects out there.

i haven't exact data about MINT but NYC git which received simultaneous "update"
was already infected on Oct 11, when i dl'd it, and again, prolly that started much earlier

You are right, At this moment we are looking further into it. We have found changed files in the 2.0.2 release on Github, these files got changed on 20-8-2018. just a few days before we released 2.1.0.

You can keep running this version, nothing has changed in the new release.
We only recommend people upgrading version if you downloaded the 2.1.0 release after 2018-10-28
